I tested Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 - Integral Edition 2019.2.18 In the virtualbox. Everything works very well. I would still recommend the SeaMonkey browser, VLC, BleachBit. I'm a Linux user and I have not used Windows since 2012 and that's why I would recommend some popular linux applications. I'd recommend you take a look at the ReactOS Project. I think you should use there all the knowledge and experience you have about Windows in the ReactOS Project.. I would like to create a distribution to be called "ReactOS Integral Edition".

@Satala Remus SeaMonkey will soon stop the supporting for Windows XP and PotPlayer is a better player for the Windows OS. ;)

Did a fresh installation of Integral and SFC is not working for me. I have admin rights but the does box/command prompt states I must have before using it. Also none of the six options it offers works either.

@pensioner You should better use the WinXP.-IE SFC tool to find out why it doesn't work for you.
Goto: START -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Windows File Protection.cmd

hello, to install certain software I need to have administrator rights, I have not found the administrator password, can you help me?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 3 years ago
@Casina Pi You have to do a fresh installation and not an upgrade. Delete the Windows XP Hard Disk or Partition before you install Windows XP new.

@Ramsey. When you install XP Integral it is already admin rights or do you have to create another account for that? Using SFC by right clicking command prompt shows admin already logged on as current user. Clicking normally command prompt and entering SFC gives the command list, but type any one in throws up errors. What should you type in to get it to work, I mean what is your procedure? Thanks.

@Pensioner If you did a fresh installation (not a upgrade) then the Admin accont will have full administrator rights by default.

Ramsey I wanted to use the SFC(system file checker in XP) but it throws up error as 'you must be logged in as an administrator,' in command prompt box. I thought Integral once it is burnt from iso is only 1 account of Admin. Must I create an Admin account to use SFC? Thanks.

      Ramsey · 3 years ago
@Pensioner Are you sure you did a fresh installation and not an upgrade? You should have administrator rights by default in the Admin account.

@Ramsey My mistake Ramsey- getting too old :? I right clicked command prompt after reading online how to use and that causes the issue, just clicking normally solved it and it runs okay now. Thanks.

@Ramsey Spoke too soon. After clicking command prompt Windows gives me a list of 6 for sfc commands. Typing any of them eg /SCANNOW in did not work. Hell!

      Ramsey · 3 years ago
@pensioner Make sure you have administrator rights because the SFC commands won't run without it.

Hi Ramsey, I just noticed that at your "Implementing various Windows XP Settings." script command line window, the head of an alien (?) is a bit damaged:
    1) how it looks like:
    !
    (o o)
    ---------------------------------oOOo-(_)-oOOo---------------------------------
    2) how it should look:
    \\!//
    (o o)
    ---------------------------------oOOo-(_)-oOOo---------------------------------
Other than that everything seems perfect so far. Thank you so much for continuing your XP releases, I registered at your forums 8 years ago but keep coming back because you are great. Have a nice day !

And is this bug in the latest version or in a older version? Because i cannot reproduce it, it could be that i fixed this already.

Microsoft still offer KB4487085 acknowledging it is very buggy, yet it causes 'The procedure entry point sprinttf_s could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll.' and people only see the warning/after effects after the fact of installing it when their system crashes. Well done Microsoft! (clap)

The Microsoft update KB4487085 is bugged and it was removed for the Windows XP Update Center.
If you have already uninstalled KB4487085 and still have errors then you should also try uninstalling KB4486463.

      @Ramsey Hi Ramsey
Do you mean KB4487085 is removed from your system next Integral version? I'm still getting this update KB4487085 showing on MS Auto Updates notification along with 11 others, so it is not removed from Microsoft site at all. Thanks.

@Tim This KB4487085 is a new Microsoft update from February it was never integrated into WinXP-IE. ;)

The Integral I have onboard is the July 16th 2018 1st version and every online MS update was without problems. Yesterday I was notified of 12 updates by Auto Update. I made a restore point as I always do. I installed the Feb 2019 various Net Framework etc security fixes and the result was bad. the updates totally screwed up my desktop programs, ctfmon, Intel driver error messages Avast, Zone Alarm freezing, missing dll warnings etc. In essence on boot up loads of warning boxes.

I rolled back to the restore point and everything was still in a mess. I started frantically looking for other restore point and found a random system check point from nearly 2 weeks ago and Thankfully it worked reversing the damage those deadly MS fixes did.

Do Not install Feb 2019 fixes as 1 or more of them will destroy your system stability. (anger)
