So Microsoft pushed out a new repair 24H2 today and this what it does to unsupported machines. Looks like I'll be running setup.exe with the Nov build when it arrives. I'm running the Oct build that I installed over the top of 23H2

@Greg I never saw this "Windows 11, version 24H2 (repair version)" popping up at the Windows Update menu. But you could try to run this Batch file below and see if that helps.

    Hello,

I've had problems with the latest Windows 11 installation package. I did a clean installation on a new Lenovo Ideapad laptop, but for some reason Windows Update keeps trying (and fails) to install the KB5044284 cumulative update which should be preinstalled. I've tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, it fails every time. Then, I proceeded to hide it, but the problem arouse with the October cumulative update preview which, of course, isn't preinstalled.

Also, I don't know if it's related, but I also have problems connecting to other computers in my network. The other computers can see and access Lenovo's shared folder, but Lenovo cannot access the other computers' folders. I've tried every possible method of resolving this, but no luck.

Could this have something to do with 24H2? The computer from which I'm writing this is fully updated, but it's still ver. 23H2. I even see in my update history that the cumulative update for October is called KB5044285, not KB5044284.

I'm probably gonna try install the September installation package to see if that fixes it.

@Chuck Norris Wait for the official release of that update. Or try to run the command "/scannow" in the CMD box or run "start ms-settings:windowsupdate" and then "%SystemRoot%\System32\USOClient.exe StartInteractiveScan" in the CMD box.

    Dear Ramsey,

i want to thank you for all your hard work, i literally open the website everyday checking for latest version of Windows 11 24H2

i have a suggestion, a request if i may, if you can upload a version of Windows for ARM. not necessarily with all the extras (7-zip, firefox, ...), just a clean iso, latest version of windows for ARM64, planning to use it on Microsoft Surface Pro 11th edition Snapdragon.

i was able to find the above link for such iso, but it seems till now it has an older version:

while the latest version is now:
    26100.2033
    26100.2152
    26100.2161 (latest)

forgive me if what i'm asking for is difficult to achieve.

    best regards,

Trying to upgrade from a Win10 23H2 install using your Win11 24H2 iso. After keyboard selection goes straight to Select Setup option with Install Windows Server pre-selected. Have to agree to delete files and apps to continue. This is what I'm trying to avoid. Any suggestions?

@RatPak You need to start the setup from the Windows itself and not boot it from an USB Flash drive.

      @Tim
This happens if your BIOS has a Windows Key built into it. In the previous verison I added a workaround for this but it looks like with new 24H2 version that this doesn't works anymore.

Here are a few tricks you can try. Edit the file ".\sources\ei.cfg" with a text editor and try the combination below (Copy & Paste) and report back what works for you.

@Ramsey Just a question about using Rufus (USB tool)... do we select the .iso file with TPM & Secure Boot with the 24H2 version?... regardless of (whether or not) the computer BIOS has these features?... or should we select "no TPM / Secure Boot?...

@Tim Don't use any option in Rufus for the TPM & Secure Boot stuff.

@Ramsey In my case, only the Win11 Home Edition shows up to install.

So, I changed the installation to Win11 Enterprise by doing the following:
      - Start Menu > System > Activation > Change product key.

Open the product.ini file (in "sources" folder of new installation disk / USB).
      - find the "Pro" version first, copy/paste the product key number into the Change product key (box).
      - The system then verifies the key and starts to install the Pro version.
The upgrade begins... it takes a while to install (upgrade).

After the upgrade to Pro version, go back to Change product key, and copy/paste the Enterprise version product key... this process goes very fast (almost instantly changes to Win11 Enterprise).

NOTE: To see the upgrade progress (stop the screen from going out), open Windows (Start menu), open Control Panel
      - then select system > Power Options > "Change when the computer sleeps" ... select: never
