Hey Ramsey, I installed XP Integral on several PCs and notebooks with latest drivers just to play old games and EAX games. When using the machine I noticed that it wasnt really faster than all my Win7x64 installations I have in the other disks. I suspected this when decompressing big RARs and installing/playing games. So I ran CPUZ benchmark and found that in all my pcs, benchmark runs almost half slower than on the same PC with Win7x64. Checked again with a Live Win10 Pendrive with CPUZ on all my PCs and score was the same as Win7X64.
Tried it on: AMD E-450 notebook, Athlon II X2 250 PC, Pentium G2030 PC and Core i5-4460 PC. I noticed all these on the slower PC (AMD E-450 Notebook) as I was expecting a noticeable boost in general use and on my current i5-4460 as the machine is super fast and it wasnt on XP.
The only thing left for test is install an untouched XP SP3 iso and test if its XP, your release or something else. Could someone make any test and comment?

@ochentay4 When i installed Windows XP on low hardware like 1GB of RAM then Windows XP was always running faster then Windows 7.
You should make sure that you have installed the Up-to-Date drivers including the latest Intel Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility).

@Ramsey I am, I used latest drivers downloaded from Manufacturer, then reinstalled and used DRP.SU driverpack, then reinstalled and used SDI driverpack, all same results. Im currently installing "Windows.XP.2003.eXPerience.Edition.October.2011" to my i5 build to run CPUZ benchmark as Hirens BootCD 15.2 MiniXP runs to a crawl and gives erratic scores when running CPUZ benchmark.

@ochentay4 Windows XP will be faster on older computers that have like 512MB-2GB of RAM but Windows XP will be slower on faster computers like your i5 or even your E-450. That's why i also did a Windows 10 Integral Edition. ;)
And if you have an old Game that doesn't work on Windows 10 then you can install VirtualBox and run Windows XP with you Game directly from Windows 10 itself. :)

Hi everyone. Brilliant project you got going on here. I really enjoy checking these versions out on a VM and I've even installed a couple on another partition. I was wondering whether anyone else is getting very different results between the VM and the actual PC? Some things like firefox and other small programs and internet connectivity are working great on the VM. However once I install it on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite C855(Yes I know.. old crap) ) a bunch of drivers are missing and I can't get the WLAN to work cause the WLAN driver is one of them. I've tried many different sites for drivers including manufacturer's and Microsoft but none seem to make any difference. (I could be missing something out cause I'm not exactly a programmer or a dev. ) I've not yet tried this latest version (it's downloading as I type here).

Another thing I've noticed, the few programs that work through these versions of XP on the VM, work really well and really fast. No lag whatsoever. Keep up the good work!

@jetmech The Virtual Machines are simulating hardware components for which Windows XP has drivers included by default. That's why you get different results between a Virtual Machine and a actual Computer.

@Ramsey Quite right, although it is weird that it does this on my laptop. It's pretty bog-standard, I didn't build it myself or modify it. Although I do know the WLAN controller / driver is always missing whenever I install a Windows OS, no matter which version.

Linux on the other hand, works great out of the box and then slowly regresses as time goes by.

      @Ramsey RTL8273AE as W/l network adapter and

      RTL8101/2/6E as Ethernet controller.

I've googled them a few times but most aren't compatible with win xp.

@Guest123 No need for a Windows XP 64-bit it's only needed if you have more then 4GB of RAM and any Computer whit more then 4GB of RAM should better use Windows 10 64-bit.

@Ramsey There's no need for this Ramsey. You have the set up for XP already perfect. I wish people would stop this nonsense. If they no likely they should make their own set up methinks!

@Ramsey Thanks, Ramsey. After all, it's the BEST version of a custom Windows XP install that I've seen and I can always put it on the OS if you don't add it. I just wanted to see a little more customization for the end-user.

@Droopster If you login and click on the link that says "Hallo, Droopster" there you can upload your Avatar. ;)
And to fix the dotNET update loop, simply reinstall dotNET. You can also use the dotNET All-in-One pack from the latest WinXP-IE for the dotNET reinstallation. :)

The September Upgrade for this Integral Edition is Important? I mean, I don't want to re-install my current August Version of the Integral Edition, so there is something really important? I'm very thankfully and glad to see a simple patch version from the newer Integral Editions.(Sorry for my english)

As always, thanks for this great 2018-08 release. One thing though, I really dislike Pot Player. Its not opensource and its relatively new, and VLC is really well supported and documented. Why the change? I see VLC as Firefox and 7zip, all opensource and well common programs. Also, could you add Double Commander, WinSCP and Kitty (Putty Fork), I find them vital. If not thanks anyway!

      Ramsey · 5 years ago
@ochentay4 PotPlayer is also Open Source and it's based on MPC-HC and it has a lot more options then VLC. ;)
And i cannot add anything more because of the 700MB CD limit. :(

      datauser · 5 years ago
@ochentay4 Not a great fan of Pot Player too, VLC is better, but I preferred to install the last XP compatible K-Lite Pack(tool bar free) and let its Lav Filters do the worrying with the media player built into in the pack.

As Ramsey says there's a CD limit size and the integrated software is more than enough without other individual stuff which other users wouldn't need. :?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 5 years ago
@datauser PotPlayer is really better then VLC or K-Lite. It has LAV, FFmpeg, madshiand and a lot more like Analog/Digital TV support and it's able to record your Webcam or Playback Video or Window Screen.

@Ramsey I went with K-lite 13.8.5 because it is a new maintenance build for xp and they are still updating it. Its also very stable. 8-)

@datauser The only thing that's still included in the K-Lite-XP is MPC-HC and LVA that's all. And both of this things are not updated anymore for Windows XP.
PotPlayer is based on MPC-HC and it's still compatible whit Windows XP and it includes a lot more factors then VLC and K-Lite.
Some time ago VLC was the best then came K-Lite and now it's PotPlayer. ;)

@Ramsey I see what you mean. We all get too used to using our favourite software that we tend to ignore better programs out there. For XP to keep relevant so to speak Pot Player is the best for diversity of options etc. I remember being fond of using Cyberlink PowerDVD 4 bundled with my first laptop and my first desktop PC the ancient 2.55 version. Ah those days!

@Rob Yes there are a few updates for August notably IE8 security fixes or Net Framework patches which show that XP like all Microsoft systems are either bug ridden and not that secure- Win10 I'm not too sure?

Some would argue the code is evolving and patches are merely upgrades. Does Linux have these amount of coding bugs like Microsoft? I think not, but it has had some!

@Juicy Some of this patched files are old WinXP files and some WinXP Update will also override this patched files.

      (#) Important:
      3. Because of a Microsoft bug since 2017 you have to always install the latest "Internet Explorer 8 Cumulative Security Update" manually (Downloadable via the Microsoft Update Catalog) before you can get the newest updates over the Windows XP Update Center or else it will take extremely long to find the newest updates and the svchost.exe file will also have a high CPU usage.
