(#) How to do a fresh Windows 11 installation:

1. Burn the Windows 11 ISO file on a DVD disc by using a Brun program like CDBurnerXP (http://cdburnerxp.se) or use Rufus (http://rufus.ie) to create a bootable USB Flash Drive with the Windows 11 ISO file.
2. Do a BACKUP of your important files on a separate Drive.
3. To avoid accidentally creating a Windows 11 Online Account or running into the Account bug (Other user), disconnect your Computer from the Internet before you install.
4. At the Windows 11 Setup menu select "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)".
5. Delete all the old Windows Partitions and then click on install (Be very careful to select the correct hard disk drive).

    What Is The Bare Minimum List Of 'Services' 2 run Windows 11? =)  Mr. Ramsey, iAm about 2 adventure into the #FailTrain that is 'The Latest Greatest' #FailTrain #ComedyGold of WinBlows $camLeven (not yor fault everything after XP is absolute krap =) & iAm curious what stuff iCan shut off without causing $hit 2 lock up.  4 XP, iAlready know the answer which is that only these 5 things need 2 B running 4 the vast majority of people who need their PCs 4 doing actual work ~>
    1) DHCP Client = internet
    2) Event Log = just 2 avoid 'shut down hanging' (bug)
    3) Plug And Play = Audio
    4) Windows Audio = as above
    5) Remote Procedure Call (RPC) = runs 'everything' (pretty much =)

      @Dood McMan It always depends on what people use their computer for. You can turn off the services you think you don't need and see if the functionally of your Windows is still okay for the work you do.

      I also think it's best for you to move on to "Linux Mint" instead of staying in an toxic relationship with Windows. The fact is that in the future Microsoft will force more and more people to be slaves to their cloud system and starts scanning you computer for XYZ files that the states don't allow you to have.

      @Ramsey U R pretending not 2 understand my request =)  I never said 'minimizing services 2 the bare minimum will B perfect 4 everybody'.  It is simply the best for streamlining, so people can add what they actually DO need as they go, & I even gave examples, like how iEnable 'DCOM launcher' thingy when I want 2 use 'disk manager', but that's pretty much it.  iNever print N E thing out, so if U R into getting 'ink raped' by 'the printer market' that's up 2 'whoever' =))  Since U R so WAAAAY $marter than me @ all the 'programmy' stuff like 'windows configuration', U R the iDeel guy 2 ask what R the BARE MINIMUM services required so 7 will not crash all by itself.  iGave U a precise example 4 Windows XP, so what is the list 4 11? =)  & as 4 the bull$hit that is Lin-Hell, just because everything after XP is just getting infinitely WORSE in USABILITY does not mean it is not NECESSARY 4 COMPATIBILITY! =;-o

      @Ramsey BTW: Also note iNever suggested U minimize all the services by default in your installer, but provide TEMPLATES 4 'minimum services' people can select if they WANT that sort of 'streamlining' =)  It's as simple as including the 'pserv.cpl' program in the thing same way U put 7Zip & MPC in there =D  & note the location of the templates, like with a shortcut = 'Streamlined for maximum performance' & maybe another with 'printing & wireless' & a few other 'common' features.  Most $ervices R just garbage 2 deliberately eat RAM & CPU & fuk up the computer so Micro$cam can keep pretending people need 'upgrades' not only in OS but hardware 2, which is part of the 'partners in crime' relationship they have with PC vendors = 'Thanx Mr. Gate$ 4 making the peasants think they need a quad core & 8 gigs of RAM 2 check their E-Mail' = LOL =))

      @Ramsey Anybody who wants the best solution should try what I am doing, which is a simple little portabe 'Office 97' versions of 'Word' & 'Excel'.  If U want 2 find them I can E-Mail me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' 4 links 2 some sites 2 check out (& same goes 4 the best version of 'pre-updated' Windows 7 out there, which is so incredibly INFINITELY superior 2 Windows 11 in every possible way imaginable, except 4 the fact there R many fools who artificially sabotage their software so it 'demands' something 'later' than 7, which is as absurd as pretending N E 1 needs 64 bit anything LOL  Windows 7 not only is available in 32 bit version so can run a wider range of old drivers 4 (cheap) hardware, it's also FASTER because fewer bits 2 address, same as 32 bit versions of web browsers like Firefox.  64 bit is just another silly 'number bigger better' bull$hit $cam =P

      N E waze, I'm not a fan of MS Word as there's a lot of GR8 freeware that's way better than that, but it's good 2 have around 4 reading & modifying 'word' docs from others, & a few 'de-formatting' tasks.  As 4 'database' stuff though Microsoft Excel '97 is the best spread sheet program by far.  It does anything any professional in the world can possibly need for accounting purposes & stuff, & is compact & quick & E Z 2 use & very flexible.  All they do with more 'updated' versions is fuk stuff up, progressively more with each new & even more fuk'd up version, culminating in the insanely space-wasting 'hide it under even more submenus' ribbon garbage LOL

      Even the most basic things like maintaining custom cell highlighting when using a dark desktop theme break with 'mainstream' freeware equivalents, & some even break the formulas! =;-o  Also when U work in '97' versions U can B sure everybody else can use them instead of bull$hit $abotage messages about 'compatibility programs' (2 try & force people 2 $witch).  It's all a big joke = like pretending TVs have 'invented new colors' or something.  No, U can make any color a human can see with just red, green, & blue (light) LOL =))  Speaking of TVs, stick with fluorescents & plasmas.  Every LED-based technology has $hit color, relatively speaking =P

      @Dood McMan BTW: Regarding 'patches' & 'updates' it's infinitely better 2 have a STABLE release so Micro$hit can't DESTROY people's machines =)  The instant I went online with your 'well improved' version of Windows 11 it self-destructed with a bunch of 'phone home' krap literally taking the computer away from me & trying 2 sabotage it, so I shut it off instead of the 'wait around wasting your time while we wreck your machine' messages LOL  Then when I boot up says it needs 2 'repair' & this & that & even suggested I re-install the whole OS = LOL!!  It reminds me of the early days of pre SP3 Windows XP where as soon as you go online U get hit with a ton of viruses & worms & stuff because of some 'open network port' problem, except in this case it's the actual software 'vendor' (Micro$oft) who is doing the damage 'online' =P  In other words, U should (as I have mentioned B 4) make everything totally 'locked down' by PERMANENTLY DISABLING ALL UPDATES unless the user specifically enables that (anti) feature 2 'phone home' & 'hope 4 the best' =)

      As a relevant example here, my main PC is a literal 'street garbage' HP (Asus OEM motherboard) PC with a trash 'core 2 duo' E8500 CPU or whatever, running your 'optimized' custom XP variant from this web site I got over 10 years ago (pretty sure = can check).  It 'just works' so Y fuk it up?  The ONLY reason ANYBODY actually 'needs' Windows 11 is 2 simply have a 'compatibility layer' 2 run some of the foolishly programmed software out there that 'demands' it 2 exist on the machine.  It's so absurd it's obscene, because anything they could ever possibly want 2 do they can do on any 'old junk' (yet way faster & stuff) OS like Windows '98 =P  I recently got an E-Mail from somebody who saw me on this forum talking about issues like this & here is their message & my response, which U may find useful ~>

      What do you mean? XP or later self-destruct if you try to boot them on different hardware than the original installation =P For example, if you remove the drive with the OS on there, & put it in a different PC (with different type of motherboard, etc.) it will give you a 'BSOD' (Blue Screen Of Death). It is sabotage by design = not necessary or 'protecting anything', & Windows '98 on back would not do that but instead try to load whatever drivers were different so it could boot again (like Linux?)

      So yes if I were a 'programmer' type I could figure out how to make a 'custom installer' for the fancy XP or whatever else, with all the necessary tweaks I do, but I am not at that level (yet), which is why I ask about hiring 'Ramsey' & others (who just ignore me =P)

      I've been researching networking & virtualization & I think what may work well is a 'bare metal hypervisor' that runs 'containers' rather than 'virtual machines', so the user could (for example) have all the different drivers & stuff to assign the different bits of actual hardware to different 'applications' on a 'program' basis, while using whatever operating system of their choice =) So in other words, everything will appear like that operating system, but you can launch whatever 'applications' (software) you want, & it will 'just work' because it has the 'container' with all the necessary DLL files & whatever = kind of like the idea in Linux with 'Wine' maybe, but instead of trying to do 'open source' just using the easy quick & simple route of using the ACTUAL ORIGINAL OS files instead = like for XP, 7, 11, & whatever.

      The ideal solution would look & run simple & fast like Windows '98 (Pre IE6 sabotage =)) while being able 2 run software for versions that came after. I make XP & 7 look like '98 anyway, because it is more easy & simple 2 use. If I want something 'pretty' I will stare at some hot gal's ass or something =) An operating system is a TOOL. For 'beauty' & 'design', it's silly 2 try & dress up a 'device' like that. The ridiculously space-wasting clumsy 'tablet/phone' nonsense of Windows HATE (8) on forward is completely ridiculous =P

      Anyway, time 2 check out some ass, because my OS is so 'ugly' (but way better =) HAHAHA ~>

      @Dood McMan BTW: i4got 2 mention iHave many nice PCs, even 'super computer' level stuff.  I buy them up in bulk sometimes when I C a GR8 bargain =)  iDon't use them because iDon't need them.  It's not my fault so many people think they need a quad core or more & 8 gigs of RAM or something 2 check their E-Mail = LOL  The most insane thing I've ever seen though is Google Chrome with how it deliberately wastes as much RAM & CPU as possible.  It's like virus/malware level $hit =;-o  Firefox after they flipped 2 the 'chromium' whatever 'engine' (so Youtube would continue working OK after Google sabotaged it with even more broken 'java hell') isn't nearly as bad, & way better after doing a bunch of 'thread limiting' trix =)  iHear about 'single thread' flags 4 'chrome' so it would B nice 2 C in the portable '360' & others also =D

      A lot of sites work better in Chrome than Firefox, even though they have similar 'rendering' bits.  'Mypal 68' is far behind, breaking even on 'simple stuff' like the Home Depot web site =P  It's also funny how like 15 years ago Youtube was so much faster & more stable than it is now = back when they used flash, & didn't super-load it with so much garbage 2 deliberately wreck it (2 try & force the whole world 2 'go chrome' just so they could deal with it = like a 'lock & key' situation =P)  BTW: Currently I have a dozen Dell Precition T5810.  They can take quite fancy CPUs & tons of RAM = GR8 4 both 'industrial' & 'high end gaming' (look into it).  If N E 1 here is maybe curious 2 buy or trade 4 whatever here (programming?) maybe let me know at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' =)  I got all 12 4 a grand total of $100 from a college student on Craigslist who got them from 'Cal Poly' college hoping they had fancier video cards.  A later auction had another batch with 'mystery' gaming cards (random 2 slotter things) but at esentially $35 or so each that's way more than I was willing 2 go, since I don't even use stuff like that.  I can do 4K videos on my 'junk' core 2 duo running XP I put on it like 10 years ago (from Zone94 WOOO!) so what's the point? =))  BTW: I run about 12TB on it & many drives so whenever there is a big problem or something like if I tweak something wrong I just boot from another drive & replace the 'broken' 1 with a 'backup mirror' from 'DriveImage XML' ~>

    It could be very useful to have Integral Editions of Win7 and Win8.1 x64.
    Especially the latter, as Deskmodder's ESU bypass patch is available to Win7
    but there is no ESU for Win 8.1, however there should be an upcoming ESU option for Windows Server 2012 R2 - which can be thought of as a Server Version of Win 8.1, What do you think about this, Ramsey?

It is INFINITELY superior to Windows 11 in a ton of ways, which U certainly already know, but R unwilling 2 say 4 whatever 'latest greatest' cult reasons (like Apple users love 2 ignore faults =)) 4 instance, even basic things like navigating menus is closely spaced & dense rather than the absurd bull$hit 'tablet interface' nonsense of the NOT 4 desktop Windows HATE (8) /10/11 nonsense toy interface.

      As 4 'usability' XP is way better than N E thing after, especially with the 'classic' theme. Micro$hit broke 'Explorer' ever since Vista on forward, like the absurd 'indirect' feel of enclosing objects (even after disabling 'full row select') & the absurdly anti-user 'auto-sort by default' krap that mixes in 'unzipped' items by date to folders rather than at the end so we can quickly identify & delete them if desired. U R a bit of a comedian, saying 'No point using 7' = kind of like somebody saying 'no point eating pizza for lunch when U can eat dog $hit' = LOL =)) BTW: Here R a few things that would help a lot 4 Windows 11 U could do (4 a fee? =) iCan pay U? =D ~>

      ~ PERMANENTLY disable ALL updates by default, as well as permanent 'activation', so it will work FOREVER, exactly as it did on first install = not auto-self-sabotage or 'expired' nonsense. U can include a 'button' or something like a 'tool' 2 re-enable them if (if if IF) user decides 2 'click' it back 'on', & never 'auto'. Yes iTried your 11 & as soon as iDid it self-destroyed INSTANTLY in several ways, which R not relevant here as it's totally unusable & completely pointless unless can be PERMANENTLY disabled =)

      ~ Disable 'auto-sorting' in the file manager, so when unzipping (or moving items) they appear at the end of the list of contents, by default, never auto-mixed with the others (which makes them hard 2 find = they broke it on purpose, & is 1 of the main reasons windows 11 is UNUSABLE 4 N E sort of real work).

      ~ Disable every unnecessary service by default (with maybe a 'template' 2 re-enable them if desired, through something like 'pserv.cpl'? ~>

      Note: In my XP systems (which is the main OS I use, because everything after that is absolute krap) the only things running R ~>

      1) DHCP Client = internet
      2) Event Log = just 2 avoid 'shut down hanging' (bug)
      3) Plug And Play = Audio
      4) Windows Audio = as above
      5) Remote Procedure Call (RPC) = runs 'everything' (pretty much =)

      = Nothing else is really ever needed. Sometimes a random thing like 'DCOM Process Server Process Launcher' R helpful like if U want 2 use Windows built-in disk manager utility, but there R plenty of 3'rd party apps that don't need that krap. It wood alzo B GR8 if U could fix the 'event log' bug so never need it running & won't create the 'shutdown hang' just because that $hit is turned off = totally pointless.

      ~ Install a dark 'retro' (infinitely superior) skin/desktop/layout by default, so it looks & operates like Windows '95, which is the best interface of any OS, by far, & no need to ever change it. Those of us who use computers for doing actual work & not just 'dik around' want things that are intuitive & quick & E Z 2 use =) With the 'frame' style design with clear '3D edges' it's far better than all the 'flat' or 'jelly bean' bull$hit that came after.       Unfortunately there is no ESU (nor an ESU patch) for Win 8.1 - unlike Win7. There should be an ESU option for Windows Server 2012 R2 coming up. Maybe these updates could be re-purposed for Win 8.1 installations as well ?
      For "gaming oriented" Desktop OS, Win XP is the "first" one to really introduce pre-emptive Multitasking. All versions b4 employed "cooperative multitasking" (Win 95, Win 98SE, Win ME). So from a Software Architecture point of view, I would not go back to anything before WinXP.

      @Dood McMan I really liked Win 8.1 - By changing the UI to the "Classic Desktop shell" project, it had a look & feel like Win7. And it was nicely supported by M$ with security patches. Such tweaked Win 8.1 desktop clients could run most application software, even exotic ones. And it used to be much more stable than Win 7 from what I learned ...

      @Ramsey Most people do not care about 'spyware' or other random picky 'tracking' nonsense.  iReally don't care if Joogle spiders my PC & saves my family pix or whatever else, because it is illegal 2 use it N E way without my permission, so if N E thing it would B like a gift where I could $ue them 4 releasing N E of it =)  Also, it's silly 4 that 'Mypal68' guy 2 mod these 'alternate' things when instead he could just mod the ACTUAL OFFICIAL Firefox instead, 4 better compatibility.  Even big sites like 'Home Depot' don't display right in 'MyPal' =P  Also, a lot of sites prefer Chrome 4 different features, & there R a lot of add ons 4 Chrome that R GR8 but not available in Firefox =(  Wood B GR8 2 have both = like a hacked Chrome & a hacked Firefox (not 'Mypal' but 'official' version hacked).  4 Chrome, please also force single thread operation =)  There is no need 4 N E web browser 2 ever use more than a few megabytes tops, & iRun lots of old Firefox versions & other browsers & the fastest of them all by far is the old 'Opera 12', but it doesn't have a lot of support 4 modern 'layout languages'.  Maybe somebody could fix that?  iMainly use Firefox 'koz tha JooToob ad blockers work GR8! =D ~>

      When iWant 2 check a page design or whatever, iCan easily open it in a wide variety of browsers 2 C! =8^D  & unlike your 'closed up' mentality, it is VERY USEFUL 2 have a VARIETY of things 4 doing such ACTUAL WORK =;-o  Just because 'Firefox Is The Best' (& yes, overall it is), does not mean it's 'Always The Best 4 Everything All The Time No Matter Wat!' =P  U release Windows 11 which has a bazillion extra files in there most people will never use @ all, so may as well add some other browser options, like a hacked 'modern' Chrome so can check things out in your 'XP' versions & so on =)  I'm having trouble getting some $treaming video $ites 2 work with 'MyPal' or the hacked '360 Chrome' either.  Making them work with Netflix & other 'HTML 5 DRM content' should B the #1 priority of all of them by default, because that is 1 of the main riduclous reasons people R 'forced' 2 'up'(down) grade 2 $hit like Windows HATE (8) or L8R =P

      With the Home version this bypass won't work.
      But you can try at the Account menu to press "Shift + F10" and write "OOBE\BYPASSNRO" in the box and press enter, and see if you then can create an Offline Account with the Home Edition after the restart.
      You can also try and execute this comment below before doing an upgrade.

      @Dietmar Please somebody contact them 2 try & convince them 2 modify actual Firefox instead of random 'offshoots' that R not as flexible =)  Lot of stuff that shows fine in Firefox won't work right in MyPal68 =P  iWould love 2 throw my money around 2 pay these people 2 write stuff, but all these clowns literally don't even have any way 2 contact them like a regular E-Mail address = LOL!!  Same goes 4 the 'Kernel EX' project (2 make Win 98/ME run later OS type softwares =))  If they want some money 2 do things even better (using some simple tips like 'mod Firefox itself instead of 'mypal') can reach me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' =)  & no, having some 'web contact form' with no feedback 2 say it was even sent, or having 2 sign up 4 some 'blog' & post a 'comment' & 'hope 4 the best' is not an efficient or effective way 2 communicate with 'the programming community'.  It's like they R literally trying 2 hide themselves = very self-sabotaging mentality these clowns have = OMG =;-o  How tha frak can I pay U if U won't even let people contact U?       @Alan carr If you on Windows 11 22H2 then you don't need to do an upgrade and will get the 23H2 update over the Windows Update Center in a few weeks.
      If you're not on Windows 11 22H2 then mount the ISO file and do an upgrade by selecting the option "Keep personal files and apps" in the upgrade menu.

      There should be also a manual excitable update file, but for now Microsoft did not yet release a KB5027397 version 2355 (RTM).
