@rickz I'm not sure about file corruption, but some 32-bit device drivers won't behave normally with >4GB PAE enabled.

Ramsey, duing all the years I've slipstreamed my own XP, or tested variations, none has ever come close to your quality. A true masterpiece. All I need to do is fix the SIF to rename userprofile folders. (I can dual boot to 7 or 10 but stick with xp as it's a more efficient environment.) And thanks to RuLan4ik for browsers.

Do you plan one day to maybe do a Windows 7 Integral Edition?
    • This commment is unpublished.
The Fugitive · 2 years ago
@Neal Cullum A question that is asked from time to time. Unfortunately not. Computers that can run Windows 7 can cope with Windows 10. Windows XP is maintained for use with older programs and also for nostalgic reasons. No point in 'riding two dead horses'.

      spywaredude · 2 years ago
@The Fugitive Good point but then why are there even USB 3.0 or NVME drivers in this pack? I know damn well there is not a single machine that has both of those and can't handle windows 7.

You can try out Windows 10 and see if you happy with the speed.
An alternative would be a Linux Operating System like Pop_OS!.

Whenever will solve a problem with a sound? It seem to be the greatest issue with the modern windows xp lovers. In internet it is impossible to find out, because here a professional skills needed. I can only every time after starting kb835221 launch to have a realtek sound.

@Ramsey The UAA driver must be seriously corrected or generally better without one, because there is unquestionable conflict between UAA Microsoft driver and factory sound drivers. We are all understand that it is war of Microsoft and what is place in this war of Integral Edition will show the future.

@Dennis would you be willing to help us solve this issue?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      odz3nn · 2 years ago
@Dennis Windows XP SP3 does NOT include a generic HD Audio driver.

The 'hdaudio.sys' driver included in KB835221/KB888111 update is not generic and only works with very few, very early HD audio devices. You can see that in the INF file included in the update.

SP3 does NOT come with 'hdaudio.sys' driver.

SP3 only comes with the 'hdaudbus.sys' which is the HD Audio Bus driver.
It's listed as Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio under System devices in Device Manager.
It must be present since all manufacturers of HD Audio drivers for Windows XP expect the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver to be there.
In other words, without the Microsoft UAA Bus Driver, there will be no HD Audio devices present in the Device Manager that can be installed using Realtek HD Audio drivers.
As Ramsey pointed out in the link he provided, if you're having problems, you should remove the Bus Driver device and make system reinstall it automatically by rebooting. After which you can install Realtek HD Audio drivers and everything should work.

You should not install KB835221/KB888111 on Windows XP SP3!

I struggled with this myself, reinstalling the UAA Bus Driver and using Realtek HD Audio drivers always solved issues for me. Or you can use a cheap USB Sound Card as a workaround. Or a compatible PCI/PCI-E Sound Card. Plenty of options.

After reading previews of windows 11, I'm quite glad to stick with win7 or XP!  apparently to use the internet Home Users of Win11 must have a Microsoft account as it does not allow local networks etc. So Micros$ite is still continuing to control its users on the Net and spy on them.

@Mark So you're one of those conspiracy-types, eh? Regardless, if you look around the internet some more, there are already workarounds to this issue.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      infuscomus · 2 years ago
      @Mark
You can still set up a local account, it's buried as a small link on the page where it wants you to setup a Microsoft account during the OOBE, but it is still there.

and it does allow local networks, not sure how you thought they wouldn't allow local networks as they're quite important.

@Rei No  pal, it's a fact on pro tech reviews/boards. You contradict yourself by saying that there are "workarounds to this issue", so it does exist and you just acknowledged what I said ergo making yourself like me 'a conspiracy type'.  Bye.

@Rei Typical smart alec shallow shout someone down comment to another who makes a legitimate comment based on fact and then contradicts his own comment by citing there are workarounds already adding further validity to the very comment he originally decries as a conspiracy. Very ironic!

That depends also on your browser. Some browser already requires 512 MB RAM & if that is how much RAM you have then of course it's gonna slow down. Disable any add-on/extensions if you have any & reduce the number of tabs.
Also, most other people don't come here with a low spec system. WinXP isn't the only thing offered on this website.
