    Hi ramsey,

regarding the generic USB 3.0 driver - based on my testing hotfix KB4230467 for ntoskrnl introduces a bug that breaks the generic USB 3.0 driver for XP

with the previous hotfix KB4101864 the generic USB 3.0 still works.

do you would you have any interest at all in forking a separate XP IE edition release with these patches/drivers for modern systems for those who might want to try it?

Hello Ramsey, I am still using the 9/2015 version of the BE in my HP G62-b16SO Laptop, serial number: 4CZ038183F. Even though it recently did one curious thing: Last week one evening, I turned off my laptop normally through the "Start"-menu. The next morning my Laptop refused to Boot-up running. It only showed a small announcement in the left low corner to enter Set-Up. I did, but there was nothing wrong/nothing to be done for fixing anything (because there was nothing wrong). So, I tried to Power-up/reboot, with no success a few times, the I had to give-up.

Took my Laptop to my friend, he Cloned the entire Hard-Drive, but another curious thing emerged: Now while the Laptop and BE seems to be working and was CLONED, I still lost some programs I had installed before. for example, Bit-Torrent, Movie-Maker, Photoshop Elements (for that one I have the Install CD, so no problem), Audiograbber, Total Video Converter (Cracked with Key), etc. Also Now I have a problem with the Audio Device: my HP is originally meant for WIN7 and HD/HDMI Audio/Video drivers, but since I already had the BE installed, I had it installed for the Analog Audio drivers too, now it´s gone (with the setup-file gone too) and I can not find such anywhere from the Internet, I only know the previous drivers for the Analog sound was some REALTEK, but I have no clue further.

I had previously used the Analog Mini-Plugs for connecting my Laptop to my stereos for recording (with Audacity) and playback, now the only working mini-plug is the headphone/2ch-speaker. The Input Mini-plug would accept only a headset/skype mono-mic, compared it accepted the Stereo RCA->Mini-plug recording cable before. (The HDMI-connection on my Laptop was/is useless, because I don´t have the HDMI in my Stereos, so I´m not after it) I need the Driver for the Analog sound, IN and OUT with both L+R channels (stereo), otherwise no recording is possible anymore.

Gotta let you know that Thunderbird hasn't been supporting XP since 2018.08.06 (with release of version 60.0), so you might want to either add a mention to Recommended Programs.txt that version 52.9.1 released 2018.07.10 is the lastest version of thunderbird.

As an alternative you can mention roytam1 (from MSFN)'s unofficial XP-compatible fork of BinaryOutcast's Interlink Mail & News named generically as MailNews, which the latest version as of time of writing this can be found here: (https://msfn.org/board/topic/177125-my-build-of-new-moon-temp-name-aka-pale-moon-fork-targetting-xp/?do=findComment&comment=1170780). MailNews is basically palemoon's team response to thunderbird, which is based on the UXP platform (same as PM28).

hi! I've been testing out XP Integral for a week or so now, and I've been loving it! I've been having one major problem though, which has been pinpointed to a problem with the OS (tried Xubuntu and played an audio file, and it worked). on my original install, I had installed revision 2.74 of the Realtek HD audio drivers which said that it was working yet was, in fact, not working. yesterday, I started again from scratch and made sure that the first thing I did was install the same drivers. however, the device status is now saying "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

if it's any help, I'm running a HP Pavilion a1000, which has an ASUS PTGD1-LA motherboard that has Realtek ALC880 onboard audio. I had tried the PTGD1-LA drivers before, but with no success.

@Elly Check if the Windows Audio Service Is Started. And try out some different driver versions. I had a similar prtoblem on Windows 7 a long time ago and a different driver version fixed the problem.

@Ramsey just checked, and Windows Audio seems to be up and running in Services. forgot to mention that I had tried both the R274 drivers and the 7514 drivers which I had gotten from this link: http://dl.drp.su/driverpacks/repack/Sounds_Realtek/Realtek/FORCED/All5x86x64/7514/Realtek-FORCED-All5x86x64-7514-drp.zip

will have to check out some older versions, not sure which revision to downgrade to though. perhaps I'll just look for the drivers and progress until I find some that work for me? I should also mention that trying to install using wdm_r274.exe does not seem to work, as I restart my computer and the Realtek audio driver is nowhere to be seen, although installing manually makes it appear although with the error code previously mentioned.

@Elly small update but I tried some driver revisions from as far back as 2007 but to no avail. still getting error code 10. I tried restarting the Windows Audio service to see if that would help with things but nothing there either, and I tried re-installing the OS again and then installing the drivers with no success.

I've been at this for days and am completely stumped at this point.

The HTTP Download link (not torrent) downloads an unknown file. It's not an ISO. Is there another link to download it as an ISO file? Thanks.

@Gilson Weird. Using wget's spider mode proves that the http download link is in fact a 690M ISO file, thus the file exists. Here's the output: https://pastebin.com/jDp9q44m

@Guest16346 I am using Chrome on Windows 10 btw. Is there any problem?

      Guest16346 · 4 years ago
@Gilson I don't know, though i've noticed that downloading through chrome omits the ';' character and everything after that in the URL, thus the weird extension. The size is still equal, so all you have to do is add the .iso extension and the "Save as type" option set to "All files (*.*)"

Hi there, another new guy here.

i'm planning to do a new project where i'll put XP in SSD. i want to make it last long. Any suggestion about TRIM support. i read it that XP doesnt support TRIM. is this an actual problem or we can just ignore it?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 4 years ago
@psyionx Search in the ReadMe file for SSD. ;)
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Guest16346 · 4 years ago
@psyionx One also has to remember that in addition to formatting/partitioning/aligning the SSD using something way newer (and better) than XP's implementation (I personally recommend doing it by GParted), defragging also has to be disabled for the SSD. You also have to keep in mind that XP does not natively support TRIM, so in order to make this work, your SSD (and the manufacturer software) needs to support TRIM alongside the AHCI controller driver.

Samsung SSDs seem to have great support for XP. Just make sure you get an older version of Magician linked here: https://www.filehorse.com/download-samsung-magician/25943/

ADATA SSDs also seem to have support for XP, since somehow the latest (as of time writing this - 3.0.9) SSD Toolbox still can be run on XP (at least the Professional x64 Edition which this version was tested in), if this might not work, version 2.0.1 must support XP. As a sidenote, this version is unique consdering it doesn't have an artificial vendor block when it comes to TRIMming, so this specific version can be used for any compatible SSD. Here's the link to that specific version: http://wp.xin.at/archives/829 (I also recommend reading this entire blogpost, since it features tips and tricks for XP64 mostly, but some of them also fit for regular XP32)

Can I use ASR to backup the older Black Edition 9-2015?

@Ramsey ASR backup left a bunch of driverpack stuff on C: I ran the "DP_Install_Tool.cmd" on the black edition CD. When it was done and I did a restart the files were gone. Do you think that worked?

Maybe I should use the original xpsp3 disk next time for ASR?

@IR Try to run DPsFnshr.exe, normal this file is being executed after the Windows XP installation.

@Ramsey I tried that first DPsFnshr.exe maybe it thinks the files are on a different drive (I have 3), it doesn't remove them on C:.

Running DP_Install_Tool.cmd works, when it is done it removes all the files on C:.

Using an original xpsp3 disk for ASR should not be an issue? I was thinking the newer IE8 WMP11 being on the black disk might be a problem since it is missing on the original disk.

What if you installed IE and WMP later?? same thing?
Original might be better to use?

@IR I now have tried out the Windows XP Backup and it works without a problem.
If you have the file "DP_Install_Tool.cmd" om C: that means the Driverpack was noy run at the Windows XP installation process and that's why you have it also in your Backup file.

@Ramsey That is interesting, I remember it unzipping during the ASR. I will look in the backup file. Could it be because of the old Pentium II cpu? It timed out during ASR or something else?

I ran DP_Install_Tool.cmd off the CD to clean it up. I tried the DPsFnshr.exe off the CD too? Maybe that was my mistake? Should of done it off C: I think it was there?

I just reinstalled Black Edition again, I deleted the ms update uninstallers by accident. I may need them if something strange happens?

I get the blank blue screen at the end on reboot after install of INTEGRAL EDITION I am running Pentium II 266

Never had a problem with the older black edition from around 2015 except for the last updates.

I have to remove some new updates, has to do with cpu old chip?

Installing the old Black Edition now and I will remove IE8 only, I am having trouble on that too.
I have the correct disk now? Was getting the same blue screen as above on reboot.

Was removing media player with IE at the same time, maybe that was some of the problem?

I don't know what I am doing, just some info I found.

@Ramsey The above updates in INTEGRAL EDITION are probably making it hang on install? That is what I was thinking?

I am able to remove them after the updates, if I ever get it to update again? It seem after IE6 rollback windows update works better?

Need to get it back to Black Edition and IE6, I have done it before.

      I will update post
      Thanks!

@IR Black Edition date 9-2015 loads fine except for this error
""CPU does not meet minimum requirement; Streaming SIMD Extensions support required.""
      I just click OK

Not sure what it means, but it loads fine?

IE8 will not roll back, I am leaving it alone this time. Will see soon if it will update?

@IR Black Edition 9-2015 clean install with no updates wont roll back to IE6 (error iertutil.dll not found.)
It must be something from the updates in the Black Edition? I have done it on other old pc's.

I have an ASR backup before I tried the roll back to IE6....we will see if ASR works?

I should be ok with IE8 it looks like updates will run.

Will hide the KB list you posted on install of updates.

    Hi Ramsey,

The ACPI issue for intel USB 3.0 is fixed.

    Works in virtualbox now too.
