whaty is Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 - Integral Edition 2025.8.19 (Vanilla)   that is inside the folder is it a different theme?
    • This commment is unpublished.
@Todd Vanilla means base version. If you have an old computer use this as is. If you have a more modern computer select the patches and drivers you need and then make your customised installation .iso.

VLC was updated lately to add additional support for Windows XP, see the changelog https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/raw/3.0.x/NEWS in case you want to include that version on the next revision.

      @loopypalm
      This video is misleading.

He intentionally turned off all the security features builtin to XP before connecting to the internet.
    • This commment is unpublished.
@loopypalm The basic laws of logic apply: If he looks like a madman and speaks like an idiot, he is a retard.

Summary: Idiot sees a video on the Internet and moves on to make his own video (xBDGCDtIWoU) peppered with assumption after assumption, spoken as if it was facts.

Just the statement: "Found an address leading all the way to the Russian federation." (@3:42)
The line shown doesn't connect to anything, it just shows a process is listening. (A "netstat.exe -nab" would have been helpful.)
But this is one reason anyone familiar with the taskmanager can see he's an idiot.
It's the IP of the local computer that gets a lookup to that hostname. (And it's a UDP port, not TCP.)
And the name may be from the \system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS file where you can type whatever you want or a rogue DNS delivering "funny answers". (Need double PTR+A lookups to alleviate some of that.) You should always include the actual IP addresses since it decides where packet goes and the name does not.

The assumptions keep going on. When a new user is found, the first thing of interest is to execute a basic command such as "net.exe user admina". You can't just jump to conclusions, you have to check some basics first. (Learning the proper cmd.exe way of doing things, usually mean you can do it in failsafe mode.)

I'm not saying the XP installation he was running was secure as he seems he may imply thanks to his virtual machine. (Without researching exploits breaking out of virtual machines and sandboxes.)

But I do insist nothing he says can be trusted. And when I say nothing, I mean it. I wouldn't trust him even if he said we must breathe oxygen in order to survive.

If I were an idiot, I too would make money with YouTube videos. But I'm not. And I don't cater to idiots. So I leave that market to the professional idiots.

He knows nothing of Microsoft upgrade business, military security or anything at all as far as I can tell. This is why the Internet needs laws where nobody below IQ 90 is allowed to publish videos for public access. It may save the world!

Is it possible to create a system image using the Chinese version of the system as the base image? The other system modifications and drivers should remain the same as those of the system you are currently distributing. The pre-installed software also does not need to be replaced with the Chinese version; only the base system image needs to be changed to the Chinese one.
The reason is that after installing the English version of the system, even if you install the Chinese language pack, many parts of the system are still not fully localized into Chinese. You have to replace the xpsp2res.dll file, but doing so will cause the Task Manager to fail to open, and the entire system will freeze and become unusable when you try to launch the Task Manager.
Below are the download links; any version will work. I would appreciate it if you could help create the image. Thank you very much.

@Flo Did you try the Patch Integrator with the Patched ACPI file? Also try out different SATA drivers if the Patched ACPI file doesn't help.
    • This commment is unpublished.
@Ramsey Yes I already try, it's not a sata mistake, I found my proper driver for sata in the integrator, and I can install it in standard pc mode, but there is no sound, no graphic hardware, no battery integration at all and no cpu... and when I try to install it normally with acpi file patched, and tpm timer, it freeze, shut down instantly or give me a bsod...

THE [---------- REMOVED ----------] portion says:

    2. Multimedia: "Images and Backgrounds", "Movie Maker", "Music Samples"

I would like the Movie Maker, it´s SO RETRO. Is it still available (at least in 2015 it still was) as a separate installable program and if it is, where? Anyone?

@Ramsey Thanks Ramsey, somehow I managed to miss that. Great work that you still keep the Legendary XP alive, are you going to make further improvents for the next version?

@Hemeka Then you need to ask Rufus to fix their bugs with Windows XP.

Any plans to add the nvme2k driver in next update? It is not a backport but an actual scsiport driver purpose built for windows nt os. https://github.com/techomancer/nvme2k

@SupraGSX Looks like it's for Win2000. Need more user input to comparing this against the existing WinXP NVME drivers.

@Ramsey It works under xp, rays version mentioned about half way down is actually specific for xp. I'm using it because backport nvme drivers always give me irql not equal or less bsod this one doesn't but I'm using x870e mobo so it's probably alot newer hardware than most are attempting to run it on.

      @Ramsey Hi Ramsey,
this could be a really interesting nvme driver,
because it works with scsiport.sys and not storport.sys.
Long time ago I thought about the same idea.
And may be, with this nvme driver there is no need for any "nvme"l in Bios,
means old boards can have ALL nvme boot,
because ONLY scsiport drivers can use ntbootdd.sys, build as this nvme driver.
I wrote an own ntbootdd.sys driver to do ramboot of XP

@Dietmar Keep me updated if your run into any problems, or if I should replace an existing NVME drive with this one, or add it as a additional NVME driver.
