@Grissa Normal because some hardware components are reserving some of the RAM for themselves.

    Hi Ramsey
When we enable the Password Never Expires,
in the registry, is the key changed ?
Remember where to find the key ?😰
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Martino Contento You can change that without going into the registry.
GoTo: "START Menu -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Local Users and Groups -> Users"
And then right click a User and click Properties.

@Ramsey I mean if this changes a key in the registry ?😍😍😩😩
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Martino Contento Almost every Windows Setting is saved in the registry.
The tool RegistryChangesView will show you the changes in the register.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Andalu · 1 years ago
@Ramsey In this case, the part of the registry related to the "password never expires" option cannot be changed manually because it is locked by the system, and adding a registry key does not work either. The easiest way remains the one you suggested to @Martino Contento a few posts ago.
Still about registry: for the next release of XP-IE, please consider including the registry key to avoid automatic reboot in case of BSOD, so you can see the error code.
Here is the modified key to add (eventually):

      [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl]
      "AutoReboot"=dword:00000000

@Andalu If i remember correctly then i thin nLite did use a registry key for it but i use the batch: command WMIC UserAccount where Name="%Username%" set PasswordExpires=false

I will add the BSOD registry key to the Windows XP Tweaks option.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Andalu · 1 years ago
@Ramsey nLite allows the "password expiration" option to be enabled and set to 0 days, but before installing XP. Once installed the registry key cannot be applied or changed in the normal way.
I have never used that batch, I have always applied the usual way.  The problem for me is remembering to apply it 😁

    Hi Ramsey,

I think I've reproduced that sound driver bug that others have been having inside a VMWare VM - I noticed when you set your VM setting to Windows 8.x x86 and install XP with those settings there's a bug.

For whatever reason, with these settings - drmk.sys and portcls.sys are never copied over to \system32\drivers - so the sound card never installs correctly.

I'm not sure if you're able to reproduce this bug or not though.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@infuscomus I would say that this happens in VMWare because it will use a different Hardware ID with the Windows 8 setting, which is not present in the Windows XP "wdmaudio.inf" file.

Looks really nice. I have one silly question (sorry for lack o knowledge).
What about 64bit XP system ? I want to run some 64bit applications for database and chess, is that possible? AND most important what about files much much bigger than 4 GB, will the work on that edition?
    Thank you
I loved XP, now I'm using 8.1 (legal) and it finish support in next year :(

I burnt a 7.95gb mkv file using Nero successfully on a dual layered dvd using udf in Nero. I wanted to test it out by copying it to my harddrive & external drive or usb, everytime I try in XP Integral, I keep getting 'invalid cannot copy ms dos error' message.

Very annoying. File plays okay via disc. Thought it was a dud disc, but same problem again with another disc brand after a reburn of mkv file.

Other than trying out to iso image and extract it are there any other ways to solve this like a registry hack. Tried scan disk etc, but all advice seems to focus on systems post XP. Thanks for any tips!

Hi to all and especially Ramsey,
I am using Windows Xp IntegralEdition 2021.12.19 and everything is perfect !!!
except Windows XP Root Certificates that are outdated and I have problems with ESET Nod32 Antivirus. I cannot connect to ESET activation Server anymore.
How can I update XP Root Certificates to August 2022 (as in current integral version) without reinstalling ?
Is possible to do this by installing the iso in repair mode ? or by running a script ?

thanks !!! continue the good work !

Open the files "rootsupd.ex_" and "rvkroots.ex_" with 7-Zip from the ISO folder "./I386" and then run them.

    Hi Ramsey
    Thanks for the new ISO
I noticed that the acpi.sys shrunk to two.
Does this mean that are, THOSE compatible with most of the new motherboards ?
Then I noticed that its replacement occurs only in the i386 folder and no longer in the.cab archive. Can it therefore also be replaced manually ?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Martino Contento All the other acpi.sys files where almost the same, that's why they where removed.
And the acpi.sys file is replaced in the i386 folder and in the driver.cab file.

      @Ramsey Hi,
I set up an original XP SP3.iso without any updates, without any extra drivers,
to the Asrock z690 Extreme board with 12900k cpu.
Into this *.iso I integrate by hand only the Kai nvme 1.3 driver and the acpi.sys 7777.
This I install to my 960 Pro 500 Gbyte nvme device.
No harddisk in Device Manager, no USB, only nvme 960 Pro.
Now I test Dxdiag.exe. All ok.
Now I install the AMD 145 USB driver. First I have to put by hand usbd.sys into system32\drivers.
At once Dxdiag.exe crashes on the "Input".
So, it does not depend on the special *.iso,
it is a problem from USB at the z690 chipset

      @nuninho1980 Hi,
I put an Via PCIe USB3 card with VEN_1106&DEV_3483
on the Asrock extreme z690 board.
And when I disable all onboard USB devices,
with this USB3 card from Via no crash for Dxdiag for "Input" happens
      Dietmar

PS: So this Bsod only happens because of the onboard USB devices of the z690 boards, chipset z690.

Thanks to all who helped with the latest XP IE. Much appreciated. I am trying to connect via a mobile hotspot from an iPhone 8. WiFi driver sees it but doesn’t show 'WPA2' and there is no field to enter password hence can’t connect. I can connect to a Huawai GR5. Both mobiles date from 2017. I suspect that even the latest Atheros WiFi driver for my Acer Aspire 5733 laptop (2011) is now too old to cope? Any suggestions welcome!

Hello, i hope you could help me with some issue: when i try to install win xp integral i can't get past the loading screen at the beginning. It's always stuck at 'loading fontfile ()/_ISO/e2b/unifont.hex.gz (height=16)....
As a matter of fact 2 days ago i tried to install win 7 on the same machine and i always got stuck at the bar 'windows is loading files'....
Could this be some problem with my hard drive or machine itself do you have any idea? Thanks

@Jari If you get the same problem when doing a USB Flash installation then it's very likely that your Hard Disk Driver is defect.

@Ramsey I put this drive in my other pc as a secondary hdd and it works well. Should i format it again from my other pc and try to reuse it at the other machine for the win xp, would that work? What would you recommend? Thanks

@Jari Trying doesn't hurt, but i would do a full format not a quick format.
