      @Frida You can downland any language packs directly from the Language Settings Menu: "Settings -> Time & Language -> Language -> Add a language".

      Frida · 2 years ago
      @Ramsey You know, it is not that simple...
      Then you need to log off.
      Then you need to set systems to the language
      then you need to restart.
      Then you need to set admin and users settings to the language
      then you need to restart
      Even then some parts are not in desired language and you need to wait a few updates...

      Maybe your language does not make such complications, but mine does.

      Did I mention, that I also need to change location, country? Oh...
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 2 years ago
      @Frida It is very easy. You only need to Add the language and wait for all the packages to be downloaded and everything will change after a restart.

    Hey Ramsey,

    Can you make a custom windows 11 boot.wim image that has device manager integrated into it?

    See, I've already got XP installed on my new B550 system on a SATA drive, in the windows 11 installer that XP drive is the 1st drive in the list "Disk 0" and the NVMe drive is "Disk 3" -
    I've used DISKPART to confirm this.
    I'm quote certain that, if I choose to install Windows 11 on "Disk 3" it will install the main partition there, but it will install the windows bootloader partition onto "Disk 0" because the windows installer is stupid.

    So can you add device manager to the boot.wim image so I can disable my SATA AHCI controller to avoid this?

    Unless you have something that will allow me to select which drive to install the bootloader on to for windows?
    I know some linux installers let you do this at least.

    any help with this?

      @infuscomus Yeah that sucks, but lucky you can solve this over MS-DOS (Shift+F2):
      pnputil /enum-devices /connected /class "DiskDrive"
      pnputil /disable-device "<DEVICE-ID>"

      @Ramsey
      Thanks!

      I don't see a Device ID attribute in the list of devices

      e.g

      Instance ID: SCSI\Disk&Ven_Samsung&Prod_SSD_860_EVO_500G\5&2b442f58&0&040000
      Device Description: Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB
      Class Name: DiskDrive
      Class GUID: {4d36e967-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
      Manufacturer Name: (Standard disk drives)
      Status: Started
      Driver Name: disk.inf

      is what I get after the 1st command
      what do I put for Device ID?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 2 years ago
      @infuscomus It's the full "Instance ID" that needs to be added.😉

      @Ramsey
      Thanks!

      I tweeked your suggestion a bit.
      I disabled all devices of class "HDC" as this disabled the AHCI controller itself so all drives connected to it disappeared.
      This way I don't have to disable each drive one at a time.
      Next I had to disable and re-enable the NVMe controller, which was in the "SCSIAdapter" class.
      I had to to this because my NVMe drive was still "Disk 3" and Windows would not let me install onto it, even though it was the only drive visible.
      Disabling and re-enabling the NVMe controller reset it to "Disk 0" and then I could at last install Windows.

      Bloody hell was this a pain to deal with, all this just to install Windows 11!

      and I could've avoided all of this if my BIOS would just let me switch off my SATA controller, but no, can't have that!

      At least I got Windows 11 installed though.

      @Mav111 Yes you will be able to upgrade whiteout a problem. This ISO is no different than the one you would download over the Microsoft website. Only that this ISO comes with more updates and a few extras.

    Since I got my Win11 from this website I'll ask about it here. Every time I try to install a major/cumulative update, it fails and gives me an error (other updates work just fine). "Install error - 0x800f0988"

    This happened with the version from April and the one before that. I've scoured the internet for a solution, including downloading the files directly from the Microsoft Catalogue. The installation fails regardless of what I do...

    Is this supposed to happen because it's a pirated version or is there a solution?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 2 years ago
      @Ivory
      It's not pirated version and the KMS-Activator will not trigger such a problem. Try this steps:

      Ivory · 2 years ago
      @Ramsey Like I said, I've tried multiple things - downloading the update from Microsoft catalogue, DISM cleanup, uninstalling extra languages, clearing the cache, etc. Nothing worked.

      I guess the only thing left to do is download one of the newer Win11 versions from this website and install them through the ISO while keeping personal files... but that's kind of a bummer every time a new major update comes along. But... if there's no other choice...

      Ramsey · 2 years ago
      @Ivory Looks like something got messed up on your computer. I reinstalled the April 2022 version and the KB5013943 update installed whiteout a problem.
      In 2 days their will be a new version out, then you can run the repair option.

    Ramsey, I got a noob question here. I was going to try the upgrade method for this new Windows 11 version, like right click on file, mount, setup. But I need to delete that $OEM$ folder within the ISO you mentioned. Is there any way to do that without grabbing some third-party tool? Suggestions? I appreciate your time. Thank you!

      Ramsey · 2 years ago
      @Noob_for_a_Day You can simply delete/modify that folder from the USB flash drive.
