Hi, Ramsey...just wanted to thank you for the latest build of XP Integral Edition.
I downloaded and installed it over the weekend, and it works as brilliantly as ever!
It's been amazing to see how it has changed and evolved over the years, and while I hate to repeat myself, I still can't believe it's been over 15 years since the original Black Edition project began.
The fact that there are still custom XP builds being maintained and released after all these years...to say the least, I'm extremely grateful.
Hoping we can at least get to 2030--I recall you mentioning that a little while ago!

The recent release of that Chromium 115 build was a lifeline that bought me another year of XP as my 'daily driver' OS...I was ready to make the switch to 7, and had even experimented with using 7 + Firefox 115ESR as my new daily driver OS, but when I found out there was a Chromium 115 build out, I couldn't believe it.
It works damn well, too...a bit resource-heavy but that's to be expected, and even though there is a time bomb it's a price I'll gladly pay to have another year of XP.
(Yes, I know the bomb was 'defused' but I'll cross that bridge when the time comes!)

My current browser combo is latest Mypal + Chromium 115 for problematic sites.
Supposedly, XP-compatible Supermium builds will become available to the public sometime in early to mid 2024...I've certainly got my fingers crossed for that.
I'm surprised at how many sites still work with Mypal's 78ESR-era engine...and truly thankful that there now exists a secondary browser that can be used for sites it can't handle AND doesn't require the One Core API.
It's amazing how far that project is but I want to wait until the code's more mature.

Apologies for writing an essay, but being able to use my favorite OS 22 years after it was first released really means a lot to me...and it wouldn't be possible without your efforts and the efforts of so many other brilliant and passionate individuals.
All the best to you and everyone...thank you very much!!!

@cmccaff1 HAY U sound just like MEEE! =D  Wood U like 2 maybe get 2gether with other 'XP Fanz' & $tart a 'Donation Coder' type Web $ite 4 guyz like Mr. Ram$ey?  iCan chip in say $1,000 2 match?  Thingz iWant (2gether with other 'donaters') include ~>
~ Enable 'APO' in the sound mixer = 'Audio Processor Object' like Win 7+ KanDo =;-)
~ Enable 'Desktop Sync' like in 'Aero' in later versions of WinDoze 2 stop tearing in web browser based video playback, etc., & (of course) make it work with 'classic' theme, not requiring that jellybean 'glass'bull$hit' =)
~ Disable the fake 'BSOD' (Blue Screen Of Death) when changing motherboards or dumping a drive into another PC 2 boot there.  With Windows '98 4 instance it would just search 4 new drivers instead of pretending it is trying 2 'protect your system' by not working ($cam!) = SO lame =P
~ Right Click N E where on the 'desktop' 2 bring up the 'Start Menu' under the mouse cursor location, so don't have 2 constantly 'fly back' there 2 'navigate'.  Old software like 'Diamond Tools' & others did this, but not sure where 2 find.  N E 1 seen?  #SoConvenient! =)

Y'all can reach me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' 2 'Join The Upgrade Brigade' = & how's that 4 a name?  'upgradebrigade.com'? =D  Eventually, ideally, we could (maybe) get a version of Windows '98 with 'Kernel EX' mods 2 the point we can run everything on top of DOS, including 'modern drivers', so the (DOS-Based '98-ish) thing (because so INCREDIBLY faster & streamlined) could just call up whatever 'driver interface code' & stuff it needs 2 run modern software.  The 'operating system interface' itself has NOT improved since XP with QTTabBar installed, but steadily getting much worse, but really Windows HATE (8) was the biggest joke I've ever seen = not even a start button = WTF? LOL  #SickJokeOS =;-o

BTW: 4 maximum stability & speed, U only need these 5 'services' running in XP ~>
      1) DHCP Client = internet
      2) Event Log = just 2 avoid 'shut down hanging' (bug)
      3) Plug And Play = Audio
      4) Windows Audio = as above
      5) Remote Procedure Call (RPC) = runs 'everything' (pretty much =)

      U kan uze 'pserv 2.7' 2 get there E Z ~>
      http://p-nand-q.com/download/pserv_cpl/pserv2_x.html
Note: The newer / '#LatestGreatest' version is MUCH WORSE!  Shaces of Micro$ham =))

@Dood McMan Initially, I wasn't going to reply to this but decided to say a few words.
You definitely seem to be someone who has some knowledge with regards to computing, and while I appreciate some of the insights you've shared, I definitely don't appreciate the rudeness you've shown to Ramsey and others.
Ramsey has been working on this build of XP for over 15 years now.
It's been a long-term labor of love, and one that has been of great use and benefit to a lot of computer enthusiasts, including myself.
He can stop at any time and pull the plug on this project...he does this for free, without any charge of any kind, and the last thing I'd want is for him to lose his motivation because of rude people who seemingly are unable to appreciate what they have, who ask for more and more.
As the saying goes, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Your ideas are certainly interesting, but Ramsey already seems to have made clear that he has no interest in implementing your suggestions, at least not for the foreseeable future.
I have reason to believe that part of that is due to your demeanor, combined with your bizarre style of writing--you use abbreviations unnecessarily and excessively, and it makes the content of your comments almost indecipherable.

You're certainly free to start working on your own XP build.
Actually, I'd be more than happy to serve as a beta tester.
But please don't come in here and presume to tell Ramsey that he's doing things wrong--after more than a decade and a half, I'd say he's gotten the hang of it.
He's forgotten more than most folks will learn when it comes to XP.

By the way, I like Ramsey's 'visitor map'...you may not think it's useful, but I like seeing my humble South Florida home show up on that map.
And if you turn off JavaScript, the map doesn't load at all, since you seem to be quite concerned about CPU usage.

      Take care.

      It is a fresh installation.
I just now used a W7PE ISO from Lazesoft to reset the local Administrator password and it reported success, but I still get this same message:

The system cannot log you on due to the following error:
The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
Please try again or consult your system administrator.

Does this XP installation expect the computer to be online and connecting to a specific server out there?

      Thanks Ramsey! It works now.

I actually did a fresh installation from the beginning. What seems to have happened was that I had made an attempt to install another version of XP right before, ordinary XP Pro (Swedish language), which botched. I then reformatted the HDD with your XP but it somehow kept something from the previous formatting.

After your advice I formatted the HDD with the ext4 file system from linux in order to not leave anything NTFS left on it. Then XP Integrated installed without hickups.

      Your XP Integrated is brilliant!
      Really a masterpiece!

Swedish keyboard didn't install for some reason, even though I chose it during installation. This isn't a huge problem though.
Also, I'm not too in love with the default Brave browser. It's letting me drown in too many ads.

Thanks again for this remarkable version of XP Ramsey!

Wood B GR8 if U could upload 2 archive.org (along with links 2 it 4 us =) versions of your customized Windows OSes already configured & fully working in VirtualBox & VMware = like the 'VDI' image files & so on =D  iPosted 4 instance a version of 64 bit Win 7 iGot there & running it on XP (32 bit =)  That way I can use the infinitely better XP 'interface' & 'Explorer' (for file management & stuff) while also being able 2 run 7 'apps' programmers were 2 silly 2 write 4 'XP on up' & instead artificially sabotaged themselves demanding 7+ =D  I'm looking into 'portable-izing' things 2 with stuff like 'thnapp' & whatever.  U familiar with that area?   That would really B the ultimate, so can 'container-ize' things so can mod whatever app 2 run on whatever OS 'we the people' actually want, rather than 'forced' 2 DOWN-grade 2 more recent OSes, just 4 'program compatibility' (meanwhile absolutely EVERYTHING about the OS itself gets infinitely worse, except 'desktop sync' & 'APO' =)

@Ramsey I tried installing your XP (previous version) in VirtualBox & was unable 2 get audio working, but 3'rd party (non-Ramsey) ones work.  Would prefer 2 use your versions because 'the best' =)  If U want some $ 4 all this stuff I'm happy 2 pay U, like the 'add desktop sync & APO' & other things 2, like 'separate from hardware' so doesn't 'auto-blue-screen-of-death' when changing machines (motherboards), etc etc.  U can post stuff on archive.org & it will always B fast & reliable there, instead of 'random pirate hosts' =)  U can reach me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' 4 stuff 2 =D

How about this simple (??) idea = $100 to add 'APO' support to XP, & (after that) $100 2 add 'Desktop Sync' (like 7+, 2 avoid video tearing) after that?  & $100 2 disable the fake 'BSOD' bull$hit crippleware hack Micro$hit did 2 pretend it can't 'find new drivers' instead like Win '98 & such always did when changing machines ~ & on & on.  U R free 2 $ell these hacks 2 others 4 whatever prices 2.  4 'exclusive' hacks (which I can $ell alone or $plit W/U) iCan pay U a lot mor! =;-D  Going 'modular' helps with the 'not 2 big a job' thing tho ya?  Like what about $30 4 virtualbox image of your latest OS?

Instead of archive.org U can put them on a 'secret server' with 'passcode'?  Like when buying 'software downloads' or 'music' online or something?  Just ideas = U should maybe set up a $hop 4 this?  U can $ell the 'modification' files & 'tools' 2 'create' the desired item, without directly $elling the actual OS or '3'rd party modules'???  Like probably with 'Desktop Sync' & 'APO' there R 'licensed' DLLs & blabla = the 'tool' 2 do the 'mod' can access those from some 'free' place = kind of like 'jail breaking iPhones'?  I'm not an expert in N E of this stuff, but maybe U R, or would like 2 B = could B a GR8 'bu$iness model' 4 ya =)

    I use settings
    Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 - Integral Edition 2023.11.26
    (Customized Option; 1,2,3,5,7,8,A,C,E,F).iso

    All works, nice😀.

I notice, that in Mypal68 you disable the use of multicore cpu.
On most compis I think, you can enable it.

LOL @ yor vaxxy masochism tude with the 'please waste all my RAM 4 no good reason' routine =))  U should praise them 4 forcing it single threaded, as ALL browsers should B!  Even Firefox is still a RAM-burner / leaker, B 4 tweaking, but Chrome is even worse, & Opera even worse than chrome = literally gigs of RAM & tons of bull$hi threads just 4 a dozen tabs or so = totally absurd.  The big joke has come real = people think they need a quad core & 8 gigs of RAM 2 check their E-Mail =))  iStill use mainly Firefox 52 because it's so much more efficient & flexible than all the rest, except how JooToob killed compatibility 2 make it slow on N E browser that isn't chrome-based, pretty much, & all the plugins R still available via 'Legacy Collector' & others ~> https://archive.org/details/Firefox_Legacy_Collector_Dump
Lot of the stuff 4 'modern' Firefox is way worse, like 4 instance the clunky downgrade of 'chrome-based' NoScript versions =P

@Dietmar In the "MyPal 68" folder you find a file called "firefox.cfg" which you can be open with a text editor and there you see all the custom settings and can revers them with "about:config" in the MyPal address bar.

BTW: Mr. Ramsey it would B Extra Awesome if U offered both of the latest 'hacked to work on XP' things like the latest 'MyPal' & also the latest 'Chrome' so they can both run individually in 'portableapps.com' type format. Example ~>
      https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox-portable-legacy-52

= My 'main' browser, unless a site doesn't work on it (like Youtube, since they purposely wrecked it years ago 2 make it infinitely worse), so need 2 open something else = only 4 'compatibility', because compared 2 52 with various mods, every other browser is even more bloated & slow & buggy. Nothing is perfect =) The fastest browser I've ever tried is Opera 12, though not as flexible ~>
      https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/opera-portable-legacy-12

Interestingly 4 whatever reason the latest Mypal doesn't display 'Reddit' photo post pages right = missing pix (at least when iTried) =P ~>
      https://www.reddit.com/r/CelebrityFeet/comments/oetlgz/fran_drescher/

= Even opens fine in Firefox 52! = LOL!! How they manage 2 keep RUINING things is really very 'impressive' =)) Really what the world needs is Firefox52 but with a module 2 accept 'chrome' type plugins (like 'instagram bulk downloader tools & things') AND plays Youtube fast & E Z. Even Firefox 115 is 'unstable' once trim it down to 'just' a handful of (totally unnecessary in the first place) 'extra' threads + 'ad blockers' 4 JooToob = hav 2 restart it or kill the bad thread with 'process explorer' sometimes 2 'reset' as it 'leaks' so much RAM, but hey 'they all do' ya? But they SHOULDN'T! =;-o Also MyPal v68.13.7.en-US.win32 not 'portable' (yet =)

Unfortunately sometimes U really need 'Chrome' (despite it's insanely absurd RAM wasting bazillion threaded anti-design) like 2 run 4 example this fancy 'face fixer' site ~>
      https://huggingface.co/spaces/sczhou/CodeFormer
= werx fine with 'v360ChromePortable_13.5.2044_r1 / Chrome v86.0.4240.198' but not with 'MyPal' =P 4 those 'latest greatest dog poop' fans, if y'all really want 2 WASTE as much RAM as possible, try Opera = OMG what a #TrainWreck =)) Would B nice 2 C a 'hacked down 2 1 thread' version of that = 'Make Opera Usable Again' yes? =D

iMean, U can always use 'old obsolete' versions, but that's a different problem = lack of 'better crippleware site compatibility'. It's like if U R a doctor in a war zone = N E thing U fix or try 2, will get wrecked again a lot of times but things turn out even worse if U 'just do nothing' =P It's a 'moving target' of anti-user attacks, always trying 2 fuk up web sites & browsers & waste RAM & so on = a circle of endless sabotage, circling the toilet bowl drain. It's time 2 hit 'flush', like starting with making them portable at least =D That way it's reel E Z 2 move them around & back everything up & all that good stuff. This is an older list = more in my 'shortcuts' now ~>
      https://justpaste.it/img/06d5b23b8969e0766544596b39654ccd.png

BTW: OMFG never noticed what a bloated 'popup hell spam-tard' $ite 'portableapps' is with all the auto-loading annoying bull$hit =)) Literally locked up your 'MyPal68' on my XP machine LOL!! Back 2 Firefox 52 with U, 'portableapps.com' HAHAHAHA I don't even have 'ad blockers' on it = just tweaked the 'configuration' type settings! =;-)  N E waze, 32 bit versions R best = more widely compatible & faster than 64 bit versions.  The latest (far as iKnow) 32 bit / XP-able PotPlayer Portable is  vv210209
= It has a lot of problems but is even FASTER AND MORE STABLE THAN MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC for XP, like U can play higher resolution files with fewer dropped frames & less 'tearing' in XP with PotPlayer than with ANY version of Media Player Classic (which U like a lot,  rightly so, but again = nothing is perfect =)  Maybe include BOTH in your 'releases'?  =;-D  Same goes with Chrome & MyPal = because MyPal can't 'do it all', Like MPC 4 XP has no AV1 support either, etc.
    • This commment is unpublished.
Dood McMan · 1 years ago
      @Dietmar
BTW: Mr. Ramsey, my comment about that PotPlayer version being able 2 run on XP & support AV1 & also faster than MPC-HC, etc. is only after carefully configuring it.  I saved the page about 'how 2 speed up PotPlayer' & can post the details here if U want 2 add it 2 your 'releases' =)  U can tell they use a lot of FFDShow bits in it, among other things.  FFDShow really wipes the floor with everything in terms of 'video enhancement filters' it seems = can (with the right tweaks) make 'trash' look nice =) ~>

@Maxx (from Austria) No big changes to the base image. The Time Zone settings can be copy for the Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones) by deleting the old once and add the new once.
Anything else can be installed by Uninstalling the old programs and running the file ".\OEM\RunOnce\WinXPPx86IE - Setup.cmd" from the Disc/ISO.
