well, I'm dissappointed... I have windows XP as well as Windows 7 and both OS's won't update. every time I go to update the system, it comes back as unable to connect to server, or file not found... support for xp ended years ago and 7 ended at the beginning of this year. I guess we are all stuck using windows 10 or Linux!

Or MacOS or BSD or MorphOS or Haiku or ReactOS, etc.
It's called planned obsolescence which is the companies right to cut off support for legacy OS.

@Hyde yup, I just had to scrap out 3 old P4 based systems due to their age. windows 7 won't update and the systems were just too old... being forced to stay with AM2, AM3, AM4 based systems now. won't use intel based systems because I had too many issues with the drivers and windows not finding the drivers for the hardware. Plus I don't like the way the have their CPU layout. the sockets are too prone to damage.

How much RAM do you have on those? If possible upgrade to 2GB for a good Win10 experience. Though if you can run Win7 then you can also run Win10 since they both have identical spec requirement.
Or just use this WinXP IE since it already has all the updates and Microsoft likely won't have anymore updates for WinXP so that Windows Update feature has become useless.

Are there prereqs for any of the security updates? Do I need the previous releases to get the full Integral Edition Experience? Sorry for being n00b, I just pulled out an old laptop with a fresh install of XP SP3 and I'm wondering if I can get it to "final-release" spec since the machine hasn't been online since WAY before the XP EOL and Windows Update can't install ANYTHING.

New SATA AHCI Controller driver StorAhci version 1.0 with SOURCE CODE. StorAhci is based on Microsoft's storahci sample driver for Windows 8 and was changed to support Windows Server 2003 SP1 and SP2 with out of the box storport.sys driver. In addition we added a txtsetup.oem file to load it from a driver floppy disk at the F6 text setup stage. StorAhci is a universal SATA AHCI Controller driver for use with AMD, Intel and any other chipsets.

for XP you need to grab storport.sys from 2003 and put it in the system32\drivers of your XP install.

Once you do that you can install the driver on XP just fine.

Maybe I should tell the developer about this trick?

      Lomoff · 4 years ago
@Hyde Yes, I confirm that this driver works on Windows XP x86 SP3.
Put the storport.sys file to system32\drivers and install this driver.

Hi Guys! I'm new here and I wanna ask. Is this Windows XP OS here can be run on a Eee PC 900? I found the ones we had a long ago and it has OS problems. I tried to research about the issue and most of the sites I've seen tells me to reboot it. The OS running in the netbook is a Windows XP Home Edition. Thanks!

@JPDLC If it already runs with Windows XP, then I don't see why it shouldn't work. But i would not install .NET Framework on a very slow computer if you don't need it.

This is an unofficial Service Pack 4 for Windows XP created by harkaz.
It's the best option to use if you want to update a Windows XP Service Pack 3 computer without reinstalling.

Maybe VLC wasn't such a good idea for 9.9.2020 Integral. I tried to play an xvid today and VLC and it crashed with the video going smaller and locking. I thought the codecs were all built in with VLC? Apparently playback with avi is a long term issue as it plays avi slowly and in short segments or it could be broken plugin caches? In the meantime I've gone back to a Media Player Home Cinema portable for my avi playback.

@Pensioner Got to the bottom of my avi problem. For some strange reason VLC couldn't handle any xvid file encoded by AutoGK. All other files h264/265 play great. Tested some other avi's encoded by Avi.NET, all play fine too.

MPC-HC was discontinued and MPC-BE is not compatible with Windows XP.
So we only have only VLC and PotPlayer to choose from.

Could it be that you posted the wrong LAV link? Here is what i found in google.
Also MPC-HC is no longer under development since 2017. The new one is MPC-BE but this one doesn't support Windows XP anymore.

Very grateful for this newest Integral XP, as the last version caused the cursor to freeze when dragging any file as it just formed a lined box on desktop with symbols freezing. All solved now after a fresh new install.

I was looking at my old PC of XP Black and found it had ultacopier on it. Apparently still XP compatible 2.2.4.7 version but unfortunately would not install at on 9.9.2020 Integral. I downloaded Copyhandler instead and that works fine.

Some other programs I use e.g Wave Editor 4.1 say XP compatible but trying to install throws up 'Not a valid Win32 Application'. Older version Wave Editor 4.0 worked okay.

Using Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool to make a windows 7 bootable pendrive and work good in a Integral Edition 2020.9.9 vanilla.

@Velvet if your CPU doesn't support SSE2 you'll need to use the SSE2 updates removal patch.
