Successfully installed WIN-XP-2023-11-26 on ASRock-Z790-LiveMixer, with i9-14900K, DDR5-96GB, NVME-5.0 (Crucial-T700-2TB), graphic-GT730 (1920x1080). Installation takes 5 minutes (from RUFUS-prepared SATA-SSD) to see desktop, then about 10 minutes for updates/upgrades, next minute I surfed YouTube. Only recognized 2GB of RAM, but I was already happy. Didn't try PAE and GPT yet. Then copied NVME on 3 different other (Samsung-970, Crucial-P5, Kingston-NV2) and put them in Gigabyte-Z370 with i9-9900K, Gigabyte-H270 with i7-7700K and another ASRock-Z790-LiveMixer with i9-13900K and all worked with help of PS2 Keyboard on first boot.. But everything is not perfect.. On older boards (H61, B85, with BIOS NVME mod), only SATA-AHCI worked. Fastest startup with Z370 (about 5s), slowest with Z790 (about 3minute of darkness, don't know why, maybe too much RAM). I still have a lot of questions.. Does exist any Crucial-NVME driver, (I get strange results 10000MBs-read, only 2700MBs-write with Microsoft NVME driver and less than half with others)? Thank You Very Much!

I think here is something you like to hack. It's the "Marine Aquarium" Screensaver from Microsoft Plus!. But it only works if the Microsoft Plus! bloatware is installed.

      Hi Ramsey,
      nice Screensaver.
But I do not succeed with a hack, because the program asks for a lot of Registry Entries and some files. I fake all those Registry Entries, not works.
So, the only solution is to install it via the Original setup.exe. There you can choose "Custom Setup" and then choose only the Screensavers. This works.
I needs about 32MB on harddisk after install

Here are the Microsoft Plus! files, fetched from *.iso

@Dietmar I thought it would easy to cut this Plus License out of this file. 🙃 But if it is to much work, then it is not really worth it.
The funny thing is they even protected the few extra Effects "ptransfx.dll" for the Movie Maker. 😅

@Ramsey Hello Ramsey and Dietmar! I would really like to try this screensaver, but can't download from that site.. Can you please upload it to www.sync.com ? Its free up to 5GB and no ads or redirection, straight to link, I use it for 2 years.

For to upload a small file to this server,

@Ramsey Thank you for Marine Aquarium, fits nicely in my XP-Room and water looks fresh.
The coffee will probably arrive as soon as coffee-card is arranged, let's say it's on the way..
Ramsey, I'm a little confused, to which of your coffee-address should be send, coffee-donuts or server-donuts?
      Dietmar, where is your coffee-address?

Were the Microsoft Plus! for Windows XP and Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition packages ever included?

@Algoflex There is not point in adding this. You can install it yourself but it's useless.

Can't get my Toughbook to boot from the integral edition iso after using the patch integrator and still have full SATA and USB support. So it crashes over and over when exiting textmode install until telling me to locate "asms" on windows XP install media. No USB activity lights. And if I try to create IE iso and then slipstream additional drivers with nlite, it seems to erase every trace of IE from the ISO. No OEM folder, no unattended info left. So, I acquired a clean copy of SP3 from internet archive and integrated some of the drivers and patches from the IE folders with nlite. Finally got it to boot with SATA, USB and WLAN support with graphics and sound drivers. Also removed internet explorer and internet explorer core using nlite (necessary because a program I need to use defaults to internet explorer but I need to replace with Mypal for it to function, can't connect to server with internet explorer and it runs as a nested function of the app, not its own program), but when I finally get to the first startup, the tweaks selector doesn't work now as it's an .hta link. If I install mypal before running wxpie-setup.cmd then it will open the selector in Mypal but I get a bunch of VBscript errors and it restarts immediately, saying "The windows XP installation is FINISHED." Can I just manually install all of the tweaks? and what do I need to slipstream from the IE files to get rid of the VBscript errors?

Having a few issues with install of v2023.11.26, and also a previous version I already had laying around (v2020.9.9). I am installing on real hardware, not a virtual machine.

The whole install process appears to get stuck for around 45 minutes "Installing Devices", but eventually continues after being left to sit and do what it wants, annoying but manageable.

The main issue I am having is the "Windows Installer" (msiexec) is constantly crashing when installing the extra software after the first boot (MyPal, 7zip, .NET runtimes, etc). After installing the .NET group package and it attempts to install Visual C runtimes, where the Windows Installer crashes on every instance when trying to install anything. Even after quitting the custom software installer and reaching the desktop, the "Explorer" process also crashes in a never ending loop.

I've tried a few different things:

    - Found I already had v2020.9.9 burnt to CD, has the same issues.
    - Tried an entirely different PC combination (Motherboard, CPU, RAM, HDD, CDROM, and different cables), issues still persist weirdly.
    - Ran the first portion of install up until the second reboot (after accepting the EULA and the 45 minute wait), swapped the HDD into another machine, issues still persist.
    - Re-burnt the ISO to another CD at lower speed, issues still persist.
    - Tried to install via USB using the tools provided, issues still persist.
    - Done a memtest on the RAM to confirm its fine, no issues.
    - Done a full scandisk scan including surface/sector scan, no issues.
    - Done a CPU torture test and benchmark, no issues.
    - Deleted the driver updater package from the ISO and burnt it to CD again, thinking it might be a driver conflict, issues still persist.

I can install an original copy of XP with SP3 just fine and zero issues, even update the Windows Installer to v4.5 and run the custom software installer files from the OEM folder on the CD, and it works fine.

Any help or insight would be appreciated, as I've been at this in the background for three days.

@Mistikal Been reading through the comments here, and found someone else had similar symptoms on older hardware. I am in the process of removing the SSE2 update using the Patch Integrator to generate a new ISO, and I will report back on the outcome.

@Mistikal Yes this looks like you CPU doesn't support SSE2.

@2issues Try the "Paragon GPT Loader v11.0.0.175" (Extras folder) or the "ASMedia SATA driver" (Patch Integrator).

      @Ramsey According to Paragon:
"The current [2018] version of Paragon GPT Loader [... ]. Only internally connected single 2.2TB+ drives are supported, not external storages, or those combined into RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks).
Maybe this statement is still valid for version 11. BTW, are you sure that version was made by Paragon?

Anyway, I've tried all possible 6 combinations of Vanilla, ASMedia, MS USB 3.0, AMD&Intel USB with and without the Paragon loader. My only 16 TB GPT disk is not recognised by DiskPart. The same disk is fully operational in Windows 7. Maybe it is too big for XP.

@2issues The OS is irrelevant.  What matters is the bit depth of the 'driver'.  U can even run big discs on Windows '98 with stuff like 'Ontrak' 'WD Tools' & other 'drive overlay' software that loads a larger bit depth 'interface' so the OS can C it, & though some 'utilities' might not work, like 'scandisk', there R other 3'rd party versions that do =)

@Dood McMan Have you ever seen in Windows XP a 16 TB partition operational in an USB external drive? If yes, please tell use what software exactly made this possible. Thanks.

U can reach me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com', & iAm in California zip 93433.

Hi! Before i formatted my computer with the latest version XP-IE, XP showed 2,50GB RAM (Total RAM: 4) but after i installed the latest version XP shows 1,99GB RAM. Is there any solution to this issue??
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Ömer If you read the Changelog file then you see that the base ISO has not really changed. Keep in mind that you graphic card also has RAM that adds to the 4GB limit.
If you want more RAM then the only way is to use the Patch Integrator.

Hi all. I'm trying to install XP on a Thinkpad T470p. (i5-7300HQ, SATA SSD, also has mSATA SSD)
I integrated patch 2,4,5,7,8,C,D,E,G,O and made install usb using winsetupfromusb. When booting on the computer I get 0x000007B, but I'm unsure if this is the SSDs or the installation USB not being detected. This machine only has USB3 ports so that might be the culprit, but do you have any ideas? I think installing windows to a drive using something like WinNTSetup directly might work if it's the install usb is not being detected but I had some issues with WinNTSetup and Integral Edition in the past. Any ideas appreciated.

      @hexagonwin Hello!
I am actually having the same problem!
Currently i am thinking of installing the Windows xp system on a virtual machine and make an image backup with any program Acronis or something.
And i will try to restore it on the laptop HDD with HBCD PE.

      i will post results here.

And also if you find a better way please let me know!
      Have a good weekend!

@hexagonwin A little update to my situation. I just attempted again, this time with options 3,5,6,8,A,B,C,D,H and it installed and booted, but after booting I see some unpacking(?) window and shortly after a "Fatal Error" window saying "An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing. One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed. There are no more files. Press OK to view the Setup log file.". I can't move my mouse (no cursor) nor press ok with keyboard (not even caps lock works), I think the OS is just stuck, considering that caps lock works during boot and they are connected internally via PS/2. I'll try again with the Kai Schtrom driver first, but any other advice highly appreciated!!

BTW: I found that I was using the 2022.9.9 version of WinXPIE, is this OK? I know the newest would be better but my internet is really slow and unstable, so I can't download the new one..

@hexagonwin Downland the latest WinXP-IE version. Anything else you do is a waste of time.
The Patch Integrator script did not make a big version jump form "v3.5.0" to "v4.0.1" for nothing.

@Ramsey Where can i find the older 2022 version? Seems this one always crashes my system. Even if i tried to restore an image backup from virtual machine.

@Ramsey I just downloaded the latest one and tried with options 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,A,B,C,D,E,F and it's giving the same 0x000000A5 error, which is the same as what @ZEPHYR is getting.. do you know of a possible solution?

@ZEPHYR Instead of skipping drivers U should try 2 find the drivers & THEN install windows, pointing 2 your USB stick with the drivers (or wherever U got 'em) 2 install right.  Like when setting up a PC the 1'st thing 2 do IMHO is 2 look inside & check the video card brand & model & same 4 the sound chip, as those (in my experience) R the 2 things 'Windows' seems 2 have the most 'trouble' with, so U can '#GetEverythingWorking' =)

@Dood McMan You are not making any sense!
If i knew how to install the drivers i wouldn't be asking that here!
      Don't you think that?
Anyways anyone else here who can help me?

@Drummer The guy is 55 years old...he's at the point in life where the filter starts to come off.
A lot of guys who were polite in their youth turn into this in old age.
It isn't the first time an old man embarrassed himself around younger folks, and it damn sure won't be the last.

The saddest part of it all is the guy has some hard-earned knowledge about computing...and if you can get past his horrible writing style, he has actually made some good points.
But those good points get lost in not just the writing, but his attitude.
At this point we may as well run what he writes through ChatGPT and see if we can get the AI to make it make sense.

@cmccaff1 Somebody is mentioning me?  As if my age magically changes the obvious, verifiable fact that Windows 11 is designed 2 deliberately sabotage itself with 'upgrades', same as 7 & others =))  Next U will tell us how my shoe size runs the path of hurricanes?  U R just trolling.  Maybe U should find a better hobby than playing 'kill the messenger ~;-D
