I'm thinking of trying to make something similar for the x64 version. How do you setup the OEM part?

      Algoflex · 1 years ago
@capybaraman Ramsey mentioned it multiple times, that if you wish to run a 64 bit version, might as well just stick to the Windows10 release, here on the site.

@capybaraman If your already stuck at the OEM part then I think you don't know what work still awaits you.
There is no tool for this where you can click a few buttons and then everything will be done for you, you have to do this all by hand. If you open the OEM setting files with a text editor then you will see how all of it works.

@Algoflex HAY maybve next U can tell us 2 have a bowl of cat vomit 4 breakfast if we don't want 2 have cereal? =))  Yes Mr. Ram-Z likes 2 troll people with anti-solutions often, as if Windows 10 is N E where remotely as good or usable as Window $ex Pee =))  It's like how he would tell people 2 use 10 or whatever instead of Windows 7, which is infinitely less buggy, but still much worse than XP.  U can find the best version of that here (far as I've found) & includes 64 bit option ~> https://archive.org/details/windows-7-sp-1-aiox-64-x-86-multi-complete-pre-activated-update-septemper

@Ramsey & that iz Y people like me offer 2 PAY U $$$ 2 duet! =D  Can part it out into 'modules', like 4 instance iWould like U 2 'port' the 'Windows Explorer' (with 'QTTabBar' installed) & 'Task Bar' (with 'Taskbar Shuffle' & 'ZoomIt' installed) & 'Save As' dialog box from Windows XP 2 Windows 10 =)  4 this iWould personally give U $300, but if U would convert that into some kind of $ellable 'utility' 2 do the same (like where the user can simply 'download' the parts (automatically) & the program then combines & installs them 2 replace the current Windows train wreck 'theme') iCould pay U a lot more =D  Those 3 things (with the add-ons) R the main reason iCan never move past Windows XP, because with those features XP is infinitely superior 2 every other operating system, regardless of brand or model =)  U can reach me at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com'.  iWould start by offering $100 2 fix the explorer thing, & $100 each 4 the other 2 things.  There's a lot more iAlso want 'fixed', & again = 4 a '$ellable utility' 2 do each (or all 2gether) of these things & more could pay way more.  Can use 'excrow' so can't cheat U 2 =8^D

@loopypalm If you use this to remove even more components then you will for sure run into problems. WinXP-IE has already removed what is save to remove without running into poblems.

The way 2 improve Windows XP or many others is not by making it smaller in installation size, as that typically makes it less flexible, but by turning off unnecessary 'animations' & 'processes'.  In XP U only need these things running 4 most setups ~>
      1) DHCP Client = internet
      2) Event Log = just 2 avoid 'shut down hanging' (bug)
      3) Plug And Play = Audio
      4) Windows Audio = as above
      5) Remote Procedure Call (RPC) = runs 'everything' (pretty much =)
      & U can use 'pserv.cpl' 2 manage them E Z, & 'Process Explorer'.  The newer versions R not as good, same way Windows 7 & 10 & 11 & so on R absolute $hit compared 2 Window $ex Pee =) ~>

Has anyone been getting issues with audio? I tried installing this iso, used winboottousb 1.10 (formatted NTFS), and the audio never works. I tried to use SDI, but no audio driver is detected. This happened on two of my laptops so far.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Spence You have to install the correct audio driver for your computer. Tools like "Snappy Driver Installer" don't always work to find the correct diver(s). And this is also more of a question you should post in the "Snappy Driver Installer" forum.

@Ramsey I tried to use the official HP drivers for my HP Mini 311, but nothing is working. I am asking here because I am wondering if this is an error in the ISO or my hardware. This has happened on two of my laptops, so I am wondering if something was taken out that was critical for audio.

Or alternatively, is it the fault of my bootable USB software? What do you use?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Spence Nothing has been removed that is related to Audio. On the contrary the "Windows High Definition Audio "Function" Driver v1.0a (KB888111)" has even been added, because some old SP2 audio driver still need it.
And I also don't think a USB installation should curse such a problem.

      @Simple question
You can find all settings in the ISO/Disc folder ".\OEM\RunOnce\Settings".
To remove this setting, run the command below in a CMD window.

      Reg Delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\DevMgr" /f

@RsulKong898 Yea and when people then get a BSOD after installing a One-Core-API program then they will come in here and ask why they get this BSOD. 🙃 That's why the One-Core-API was put into the WinXP-IE Recommended Programs text file.

AccurateRip is way better.  Do not use the 'float' thing or 'check while ripping' thing.  It's not supposed 2 harm the sound, but it does (subtle).  The 'verify against database' thing is GR8 tho =) ~>
      For Blu-rays & DVDs & stuff, MakeMKV is GR8 ~>
If there R problems, can try others like DVDFab HD Decrypter v3.1.6.0 , & version 8QT v8.2.3.0, Amerisoft DVD Copier v2.5.1.5, Tipard DVD Cloner 6 v6.2.26.64560, etc., in that order.  I've tried them 'all' & many kinds leave 'silent' errors or don't work as well in various ways.  Basically whatever doesn't rip with the first thing, move down the line until it rips =)

@Lucas BTW: AnyDVD is also useful, but more compliated 2 'reset' after the 'trial' expires =P  It's the 'last resort' definitely =;-P  NO point trying N E others, unless U don't mind random errors it won't even mention 2 U so U know U need 2 try something else = worst of the worst!  Not the ones iListed, but those iDo not, like other brands.  Some may B as good but these R all 'free' if U use them right =)

I installed this version of windows xp but I am having a hard time finding powershell. It is not listed in add/remove programs with updates checked, nor do I see it in \system32\powershell or anything like that.

How can I install this? the description says it is an xp application included in this version?
