      what about if playing games?

      Grissa · 1 years ago
@infuscomus Solved .  .  it is because of low voltage ⚡

Now what about using modded bios and modded firmware available

      is it usually recommended
      😕🙂

@Omegion What are you using? Rufus and Ventoy gave me BSOD aswell. At last i burned it on CD and installed it that way. You may need to change some things in BIOS as well.

Hey, I just installed your iso on virtualbox to test it. I ran smartsniff to see if there are any suspicious activity. there are some weird IP's getting connecting without doing anything, not sure if they are malicious or not. Keep in mind, i didn't install anything or was running anything while capturing packets.

@xpuser Some of the additional programs do a version update check. By deinstalling them one by one you can see what domain belongs to what program.

@xpuser Unless you analyze the protocol, smartsniff isn't the tool you should use for this.

      1) Use DNSQuerySniffer for an easy summary on what domains various programs are trying to hook up to.
And pay attention to what servers/direction are involved as it can be scanning requests from the outside to your computer and not any program of yours trying to get out. Some software (usually browsers) also fall-back to their favorit DNS server instead of those you have configured (ipconfig.exe /all).
And requests that's found in your C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS aren't shown as they are answered without looking it up.

      2) Use LiveTcpUdpWatch to see actual connections and where they end up.
It excludes the packet data but include the process name and is great to keep track on what program is trying to do what.
Notice that some malicous software in the old days asked other software to do their connection for them (explorer/iexplore) so that's a good reason to block them from accessing the Internet.

Both can be minimized to taskbar and set to log to file, so you can leave it in the background take a look when you suspect something or feel curious.
Make your own filters to ignore traffic that's ok and would clutter up the log needlessly.

    Hello Guys 😉,
Firstly, I wanted to thank you for that awesome Win XP package you made 😀.

But I have some problems with one of my older computers.
It accepts flawlessly a “normal” Windows XP SP3 ISO or a Win 2k ISO retrieved on archive.org.

But you package doesn’t work with it. When I install, it takes a really long time when the installation reaches “Performing Final Tasks => Registers components” (exactly like in the screenshot at the top of that page).
The “normal” ISO is taking about 30 to 40 minutes to install the OS completely.
Your package takes almost two hours and when the option selector screen goes up, the installers all fails after preloading, with the famous screen “xxxx has encountered a problem and needs to close [Send Error report]”.
Even if I pass all the installers, when I’m finally on desktop, explorer.exe keeps crashing with the famous screen “explorer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close [Send Error report]”.

I’ve tried your vanilla edition, and one with (custom options 1,3,4,6,A,B,F). I’ve even tried an older package from you guys [2021.5.15 (Options 1,3,4,5,7,A,B,C,E)] that worked perfectly on my “Rohde&Schwarz PSL3” computer, but it didn’t worked on that config.

Do you have any idea on how can I make it work with that computer?

    Motherboard: ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe.
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2600 (not 100% certain about the correct model).
HDD: MAXTOR DiamondMax Plus 9 120GB ATA/133 HDD.
    GPU: ATI GC-R9600(PRO)-D3.
    PSU: ENERMAX 300W.

@A.Sumire You CPU doesn't support SSE2. So you have to use the "Patch Integrator" and remove the SS2 Updates with the "G" option.

@ZEPHYR Beelink and Minisforum are the best out of that list. The others are "probably" fine but no guarantees.
All of them will be too new to run XP though, even if you get it running, no drivers.

@yotoprules Hi! Thank you for your reply!
I think that if those mini pc that i mentioned will boot successfully Windows xp then i have a chance to make it work..
As you see because of those guys hardwork we have some back ported drivers!

I just need a confirmation that those mini pc actually work with Windows XP!

@Lucas I would recommend using Wise Care Pro instead as the latest version still supports Windows XP.

U should upload it to a real host like archive.org instead of auto-self-deleting krap like 'io' & other 'RamseTrash Flakey$hit' that never lasts, & send me a link at 'balkanguy (at) live (dot) com' & post it in the 'chat' here 2 =)

    Hello @Ramsey,
an installation with a german XP-SP3-32 version (patch integrated 2,3,4,5,A,B,C,H) on a USB worked nicely here - but a small glitch occured though:
I'm not 100% sure, but on the first disk i tested, there maybe alredy existed a folder "C.\Windows", however: the windir folder created was "C:\Win-XP" !
Any of the subsequent installations - on freshly formated partitions - created a system with windir  "Win-XP".

    A) is there any information stored on the instalation-USB during install process?

    B) Did anyone here successfully tried reverting an installation from one windir ("Win-XP") to another ("Windows")?

I tried for sure: changed dozens of entries in the registry, shot the system down and then (from another system) edited the boot.ini + renamed the Windows-folder...
only to render that system unbootable 🙄

    Many thanks for your suggestions!

@Mark The "Patch Integrator" dose not change this. It's probably the USB Installation Tool.

@Ramsey Thank you Ramsey: it was the WinSetupFromUSB (1-10) - i'll try to investigate that...

      @Mark
You can install your XP to a normal harddisk.
Then connect your USB device to this harddisk.
And then copy with AOMEI7.0 the whole content of your harddisk to that USB device

@Ramsey After all these years, the majority of "install errors" (problems) are still related to USB installation, very interesting.

@Algoflex The cause in this particular case must not necessraly be related to USB-installation. Maybe it's the enterprise-edition.iso which i used as the base: it may run as an "unattended installation", is free of any registration stuff and with a choseable windir foldername (however, i didn't specify any name at all!)

@Mark I get it, but if you scroll down here the comments, a lot of times its indeed USB (pendrive) related issues!
