The world’s largest hard dance festival, was officially cancelled on its opening day due to an unprecedented 24-hour Code Red weather warning for extreme heat in the Netherlands.
Originally scheduled to take place from June 25th to 28th, 2026, the massive hardstyle event typically draws over 70,000 festival-goers to Biddinghuizen. While the historic European heatwave forced the main festival grounds to remain completely empty, event organizers Q-dance kept a beloved tradition alive. The iconic Defqon.1 closing ceremony was still brought to life and broadcast straight from the deserted venue.
