Eric Bowen · 1 years agoQuestion: I've got a lot of legally purchased content through streaming services which I prefer to have archived on my own system...not to share, but to ensure it remains available (I've experienced extended network outages after storms and such). I used to be able to use PlayOn for that archiving, but they've since neutered what was supposed to be a lifetime subscription purchase so that it doesn't work any more. Do you know of any archival utilities for streaming content which might be suitable? Preferably on Linux (Ubuntu Studio), but XP or W10 in a VM would work for me as well.

No matter what your good intentions how will you protect yourself and those like u from that guilt as them throwing it to just about anyone who considers?
Software is soft power compare to hollywood , the way to reach billions of people...
We have to know when we are part of a scheme and someone is playing it safe in fancy salons somewhere up there while all we know is we are bloody illegal...
Tis a point of view nothing more and that for now...not b4 or later.

I am not concluding there is no true anonymity , all i am saying is you can not just download a well registered program like e.g. Tor and SAY HEREBY I AM ANONYMOUS...That involves logic and a good lawyer and guess what u ve been followed while visiting this teen porn web sites for over 2 years! 2 YEARS! Well...Believe it or not...Take care...Tor became open source...
I am also using Tor in this every now and then , yet it is the action that defines man or a woman in a free world.
The very need to be anonymous , the very need to be non tracked , the very need to have this option no matter how dillusional...
Can u name the servers where they are located and from all people why you think they would allow this kind of power "free"? In the name of anything you name it...
Especially if it becomes internationalized the way more or less we know and through the internet?
Some called once back in 2000 the world a "small village" only implies how close elitist interests may become , u may b hurt in chile yet i feel it in albania...

However, in recent years it seems certain providers have come up with creative interpretations of what "you own it" means...which never seem to be in the favor of the purchaser. Possible pointers to archival utilities?
