    Please tell me more about Trimm for SSDs. From what I read from the description above, this release doesn't have any Trimm patch for ssd. Is that right?
    I have a ssd whose manufacturer doesn't have a software for Trimm under Windows XP. Can you do a patch for Trimm for SSDs under Windows XP?

      Ramsey · 5 years ago
      @Chris The DriverPack Mass Storage supports TRIM. Only if you integrate the Universal SATA/AHCI then you loss the TRIM support.

      Rei · 5 years ago
      @Chris What type of SSD do you use? SATA or NVMe? I can speak for SATA SSD in that you can use ADATA SSD Toolbox's TRIM command for WinXP which should work for any other brand SSD. You can also use any modern disk defragmenter software as they will automatically use TRIM command on SSD. Just don't use WinXP's default defragmenter as it can't do TRIMing on SSD.

      @Rei Thanks for your reply. It's a SATA SSD. I will take Ramsey's answer and your answer and I will go with the Driver Pack Mass Storage which Ramsey said that it supports TRIM and in addition I will take also your suggested ADATA SSD Toolbox.

    new timezone update - KB4557900; this time with no support for POSReady 2009, but anyways user win32 committed to "backport" by getting the appropriate reg entry from Win10.

    Any little chance to make an integral edition of Windows 7?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Rei · 5 years ago
      @LEO33 None at all, Win10 is basically a souped up version of Win7, model after the same NT kernel of the NT 6 line, so it would be pointless to create one. If you need to use those line of Windows, then use Win10.

    Hi Ramsey

    diderius6 found a PDF guide to make a live USB of XP - guide is only USB 2.0 though

    https://www.win-raid.com/file.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Ffiles.homepagemodules.de%2Fb602300%2Ff45t4035p111837n2_fRhBozNW.pdf&r=1&content=RE%3A_Windows_XP_SP3_32bit_and_modern_PC_parts

    could you add this to your script?

      @infuscomus
      I added the entries from "diderius6" but it will not work for this Generic USB 3.0 driver.
      Remove the "::" at the "Live USB" section of the script to add the Generic USB 3.0 entries.

      @Ramsey the obstacle for getting live USB 3.0 working I believe is the load order for wdf01000

      it's possible to have it work for XP setup - wdf01000 will start in the Boot Bus Extender group
      but at some point during setup it is changed to WdfLoadGroup which is not early enough and on reboot breaks live USB 3.0 boot with a 7B BSOD.

      I am not sure what is causing the change.

      @Ramsey I also spotted a typo -

      "Integrator Files\Tools\Fedit.exe" -add -f "compiling\I386\HIVESYS.INF" -s "AddReg" -l "HKLM,\"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usbstor\",\"ImagePath\",0x00020000,\"system32\drivers\usbsior.sys\"" -once

      usbsior

      BTW, in case I haven't done so, Thanks very much for all the hard work you've put into this script, it's so convenient and saves heaps of time integrating manually, so again Thanks!

      I added the latest stuff from "diderius6", but the Driver Framework 1.9 conflict still exists (NTFS.sys error).

      @Ramsey I've noticed a quirk with the script

      if you extract the script into a folder with the same name as the script

      i.e running
      WinXP-IE Optional Patch Integrator v2.3.2b3.cmd
      from within a folder named WinXP-IE Optional Patch Integrator v2.3.2b3

      at the end of the script no ISO is produced

      but if you rename the folder to something else, it works fine.

      @Ramsey some more testing
      I noticed some missing lines in the script

      "Integrator Files\Tools\Fedit.exe" -rem -f "%TempDir%\usbxhci.inf" -s "Generic.AddService" -l "StartType = 3 ; SERVICE_DEMAND_START" -once

      Generic - referring to usbxhci.sys - needs to be in boot bus extender too.

    To Ramsey--I posted in the comments section here a few times previously. For the longest time I was still using the June 2019 revision of Integral Edition because it was the last one that would still work properly with the Realtek card in my PC.

    On a pure gamble I decided to try the latest (2020.5.5 as of this writing) version and see what would happen. Not only does it work great, but the Realtek card works fine again (meaning that I no longer have to use a C-Media USB device as a workaround)! I am profoundly grateful, more than you will EVER know, for the fact that you are still keeping this project alive after so long. Wherever your motivation comes from, I hope you will be able to hold onto it for as long as you possibly can. After all these years, XP SP3 remains the heavyweight champion of OSes, and I will continue to faithfully remain in its corner until the final bell tolls. As long as there are dedicated people like you to help keep it alive, I doubt that's going to happen for quite a while.

    Thank you so much for all of your hard work! Whatever it may have in store, I am looking forward to the next update with great excitement. God bless you each day! In the truest sense, you are a HERO for your efforts!

      @Cameron M. Good to hear that it is now working for you. This problem was related to the KB4034775 Update bug. :)

    If you're gonna consider adding some programs to the next build of Integral Edition, I recommend that you consider either adding Bulk Crap Uninstaller to the homebrew or add a mention to the recommended programs file. It's a nice open-source alternative to Revo Uninstaller sans the chances of getting some bloatware installed with it :d. According to the creator should be compatible with Windows XP with .NET 4.0 and newer installed (.NET 3.5 with reduced functionability only):
    The program folder after starting the app for the first time should weight about 17.3 megs (I used the portable version), while the requirements say that 50MB of free space or more is recommended.

      @Guest16346 How many programs do you install/uninstall every month? (bandit)

      Guest16346 · 5 years ago
      @Ramsey Not that much, although it's useful when you have to deal with stubborn apps that leave useless crap after an uninstall. It also lets you to uninstall apps which are "protected" - meaning that the makers didn't want a normal user to uninstall via add & remove programs. With great power comes great responsibility, so one needs to have a high deduction skill to know which one is safe to remove and which one isn't or requires some extra steps to get this to uninstall smoothly.
      Used to have a lot of crap installed before on one of my previous installs and it would've helped me had i discovered it way earlier, but nonetheless, still doesn't have a chance with the one & only ultimate solution - format & reinstall :D
      If there's no need to include it, just a handy mention to the Recommended Programs list would do. :>

      @Guest16346 Can I ask? Why Bulk Crap Uninstaller over Revo Uninstaller? From my observation years ago, Revo did a better job at cleaning registry leftovers than BCU did. I dunno how it fares now though.

      @Ramsey How about a de fragmentation/TRIM software such as Auslogic's DiskDefrag or Iobit's Smart Defrag or Piriform's Defraggler? They certainly do a much better job than Windows default program.

      @Rei for TRIMming I recommend getting XP-compatible builds of SSD software that obv supports both your SSD and the operating system. If not, apparently according to GrandAdmiralThrawn from xin.at a specific build of ADATA's SSD Toolkit doesn't have an artificial vendor block, so it should theoretically work for any compatible SSD conforming to the SATA standard

      @Guest16346 I'm using ADATA SSD Toolbox for all my SSD drives (samsung, crucial, intel) with no issue. Unfortunately, ADATA SSD Toolbox doesn't work with the Universal SATA+AHCI driver v9.6.2919 included in the Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 - Integral Edition 2020.5.5.
      I'm still looking for a good program for trimming nvme ssd in XP. The only one that seems to work (Naraeon SSD Tools) does not give me the same performance guarantees as ADATA Toolbox.

    Hello Ramsey, do you have any plans for Integral XP 64 bit ?
    • This commment is unpublished.
      Ramsey · 5 years ago
      @Hey No, because a lot of the stuff doesn't exist for Windows XP x64 and it has also no POSReady 2009 x64 updates.

    I am trying to install this windows xp to an ancient E-Systems laptop. When the GUI loads up it doesn't matter what option i try it only gets so far then it reboots. Might be answering my own question here but could it be related to an upgrade in RAM?

      @Neal Cullum Had no problems to install it on 512 MB of RAM. Check if you CPU supports SSE2, if not remove the SSE2 updates.

    Hi Ramsey,
    diderius6 sent me an ISO (made by daniel_k)
    that has USB 3.0 working for GUI mode setup (not sure about textmode, only tested in VMs)

      @infuscomus The NTFS.sys error conflict with the DriverPacks BASE Mass Storage will be fixed when renaming the WDF01_W8.sys to wdf01000.sys which overwrites the original Windows XP wdf01000.sys file.
      The [SCSI] and [SCSI.Load] need to be set too for the USB Hard Disks to work.

      @Ramsey I haven't been able to replicate what daniel_k was able to do, have you had any luck?

      @infuscomus Almost, i still run into problems if an existing Driver Framework is already slip-streamed.
    • This commment is unpublished.
      infuscomus · 5 years ago
      @Ramsey so the existing driver framework needs to be removed first?

      @infuscomus
      Yes i think that's why he also renamed 2 files, which will then overwrite the Driver Framework 1.9 files.
      I also did now duplicated his entries. But i still get an error at the boot screen that the file wdf01000.sys cannot be found. I even get this error if i use an original Windows XP ISO and copy/past his modified file into the original Windows XP ISO, which is very strange. (headbang)

      @Ramsey https://filebin.net/k8uu1c66svflupun

      wdf01000.sys cannot be found - caused in my version by wdfldr8.sys instead of wdfldr.sys in import table, does not happen with daniel_k's version

      ucx01000.sys cannot be found - with daniel_k's version - possibly caused by too long filename wpprecorder.sys in import table?
      but it works fine in daniel_k's ISO, so missing setupreg.hiv entries maybe?

      daniel_k managed to get textmode setup accept a long filename wpprecorder.sys in his ISO without shortening the name to an 8.3 filename like I did with my ISO. I'm not sure how he did this.
