    Making instalable XP USB from windows is relatively easy. How would one go about doing so from linux?
    This is if say, you are caught with your pants down without a handy bootable USB and have a dualboot XP and linux config, with the latter being used for offline maintenance of the former.

      @404notfound If i remember correctly then you have to install Windows XP first and then at the Linux installation option "Prepare disk space" you should have an option to setup the dual-boot.

      @Ramsey Well, the linux installation can be later be made accessible with grub4dos after successful windows install, or via booting from other drive. The problem here is making a bootable XP iso from linux environment.

      @404notfound I don't have a tool by hand for Linux but you can always install VirtualBox and do it from their and then also test the Dual-Boot in VirtualBox before doing a live Dual-Boot.

      @newmna You only need a 64-bit Operating System if you have more then 4GB of RAM, and if you have that much of RAM then you better of using Win10 64-bit.

      @New Almost, But with the WinXP updates it's more like this (ReadMe file):
      System Requirements are (Minimum|Recommended): 350|1200 MegaHertz x86 Processor with SSE2, 128|512 MegaBytes of RAM, 800x600|1024×768 Video Adapter, 6|12 GigaByte Hard Disk space.

      @New In the ReadMe file is a tutorial on how to install WinXP with an USB Flash drive but it is more complicated than installing a Win10 with an USB Flash drive.
      If you have a Disc Drive then i would recommend to use that one instead of a USB Flash drive for WinXP.

    Hey there i am having some trouble. I am trying to install various software and i keep getting a message saying "Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy. Also i installed retroarch and error is " The parameter is incorrect"

      @Ramsey I can't remember but i am doing a fresh install now, deleted the partition that had Windows XP and starting from scratch. Mainly using this old crappy notebook for retro emulation. I tried recalbox, batocera and lakka and had issues with it so will try retroarch. I will see if this fresh installation clears up the issues thanks

      @Orange Peel The current user account (Admin) has the same rights as the default Administrator account which is disabled by default for security reasons.
      The user accounts "Admin + Administrator" are all in the same Windows XP "Administrators" rights group.

      @naqi In the ReadMe file and at the RollBack option it is written that you need to insert a Windows XP Disk/ISO that has the IE6 files on it, before doing a RollBack.

    I have a problem. I write to USB pendrive, but in moment of installation from HD (boot usb):

    "INF file txtsetup.sif" is corrupt or missing, status 18. Setup cannot continue."

    How to resolved?

    Wow nice , is very rare to find updated xp packs nowdays good job , do you know if is possible to change language in windows xp like in Italian? got some relatives with old machine but not very sharp with english.

      @Jolter Yes there are language packs for Windows XP but you have too google them.

    Regarding generic ahci support - Microsoft released storahci driver source code.
