Pot player crashes and freezes on playing audio files. It causes interface of XP to freeze and be unresponsive. Also very slow loading video files. I had to uninstall and revert back to Media Player HC 1.7.1.3

@Jacko Forgot to add. If you load audio files through another program eg Mp3Gain and click on to play. Potplayer freezes but Media player HC does not. Also Potplayer screws up GUI interface navigating of XP. Clicking on video files causes weird lined box to appear and it drags or becomes smaller and bigger. Only safe mode restore worked for me. Potplayer is very dodgy and bug ridden code. Also it contacts Daum servers stealthily for update check? Firewall logs show this.

@Jacko Didn't have this problem. Not that I'd know much since I primarily use K-Lite Codec Pack / Media Player Classic. Did you try updating the software to the latest? Also this isn't the place to post your software issues. That should go to the PotPlayer forum or their tech support.

@Rei Hey buddy, that's harsh, I think Jacko is making a point of Potplayer being unstable with current version of Integral in His system, bios, hardware etc. As a matter of fact I upgraded to latest version and have seen similar issue Jacko mentioned in xp. So we should both get onto to Potplayer support eh and moan to them to make it work better for us?

Potplayer team respond very little to bug reports if at all and any software problem has everything to do with here when those things will be XP/Win10 based after an install and could be 32 bit or 64 bit related or just bad code of the said software! It works for you and many others so good for you!

      @Jacko
I tested it and i could play a .mp3 direct from Mp3Gain with PotPlayer.
And the video problem could be a wrong PotPlayer setting at the "Video Renderer" option.

Your problem could also be caused by a hardware incompatibility. I would first try the VLC Player because the last MPC version for Windows XP is very old.

Is it me or when clicking on any comment in the latest comments section it doesn't redirect to the said comment, but only to the page? IIRC it used to behave different.
Was gonna post it on quack it but it seems that it doesn't exist anymore. Why is that? :?

@Your Momma! Who are you again? I don't remember engaging with an immature trolling man-child such as yourself. All this time I've been here, I only ever see you being the the one passing judgement and starting flame wars.

    Question.When download Optional_Patch_Integrator v2.3.3b22 ?
  • This commment is unpublished.
Hi,thank you very much for yr integral version of XP,which is quite efficient and lightweight for old PC,even if it can seem pretty obsolete...but I wanna ask you how could I use the PAE patch 2.0 (and where I can find) to increase the limit of RAM from 3.5 to 4.0 MB?

@Lindsay64 You need to use the included "WinXP-IE Optional Patch Integrator v2.X.X.cmd" to do that.

Would it be practical for you to write a "how-to" guide for people who want to make their own Integral Editions from original legit Microsoft media? I've just formatted my laptop's hard drive and reinstalled Win7 and I'd do anything to skip this "install 1 or 2 updates, reboot, install 1 or 2 more updates, reboot again, repeat 500 times" hell.

@Katie Boundary Why do you not simply use Windows 10?

@K-T Alright... We get it.... That's why we are here on this site downloading WinXP. No need to rub it in.
But just you know, Win10 is for those who want to keep their systems up-to-date, protected & optimal. It is also the best in the NT6 line.

I might be the the odd one out here but I installed this on an old lenovo thinkpad R61 and I've had wifi network issues ever since, anyone else had this issue - or is it unrelated? (drivers installed etc)
    • This commment is unpublished.
@Anders And what is the issue exactly?
    • This commment is unpublished.
@Ramsey Sorry I don't know why I was so vague - brain's a bit fried. My laptop won't create an i.p address and connect over wifi to the internet. It is fine hard-wired. When I try to ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew it runs into a DHCP error, even though all services are running. I've checked drivers, no issues with unknown devices etc. Winsock also fails, so I've been unable to run that method as a fix. If you've got any ideas that would be great - hoping its not just my system. It was working correctly with windows 7 previously.

@WinPOS8.1 I never used VMWare Workstation, but in VMWare Player and VirtualBox it works without a problem.

@WinPOS8.1 I get this problem integrating the nvme driver and then using VMWare workstation.

Take out the nvme driver and it should work.

@Gigi Sure, but consider XP was released when SSDs weren't that much popular. You'd have to prepare for SSD installation:

      1) Use AHCI mode instead of IDE; If your SATA controller has XP drivers and is confirmed to support TRIM - use it. Alternatively you can integrate the generic STORAHCI driver backported from Win8, but you'd have to completely replace the patch integrator build included with a beta one: https://www.mediafire.com/file/g8agt016vd5auo8/WinXP-IE_Optional_Patch_Integrator_v2.3.3b20.zip/file
When I mean fully replace, i mean deleting the files from the previous patch integrator (cmd + Integrator Files folder) and putting the beta files in their place.
(misc sidenote: Have heard that unlike skullteria's port, it actually handles TRIM fine).
      2) Do the partitioning and formatting with something more modern, like GParted. XP setup still uses the old CHS paradigm, than the LBA-based one (MiB alignment). Failure to do so would result in non-optimal performance.
3)After install, make sure to disable defrag for the SSD drive, for obvious reasons and to reduce the wear.
      4) Make sure your SSD software build you use support both the SSD and the operating system. If that's not the case alas, use a specific build of ADATA's toolbox that isn't hardcoded with vendor limitations: http://wp.xin.at/archives/829
It's crucial for TRIMming the hard drive because XP unlike newer OS like Win7,8,10 doesn't automatically TRIM - because it doesn't have in-built support in first place

I am getting a lot of not a valid win32 application when i try to install some software. I am also getting some Kernel32.dll errors. Are these errors unavoidable due to xp being so old.
