Hi! Before i formatted my computer with the latest version XP-IE, XP showed 2,50GB RAM (Total RAM: 4) but after i installed the latest version XP shows 1,99GB RAM. Is there any solution to this issue??

      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Ömer If you read the Changelog file then you see that the base ISO has not really changed. Keep in mind that you graphic card also has RAM that adds to the 4GB limit.
If you want more RAM then the only way is to use the Patch Integrator.

Hi all. I'm trying to install XP on a Thinkpad T470p. (i5-7300HQ, SATA SSD, also has mSATA SSD)
I integrated patch 2,4,5,7,8,C,D,E,G,O and made install usb using winsetupfromusb. When booting on the computer I get 0x000007B, but I'm unsure if this is the SSDs or the installation USB not being detected. This machine only has USB3 ports so that might be the culprit, but do you have any ideas? I think installing windows to a drive using something like WinNTSetup directly might work if it's the install usb is not being detected but I had some issues with WinNTSetup and Integral Edition in the past. Any ideas appreciated.

      @hexagonwin Hello!
I am actually having the same problem!
Currently i am thinking of installing the Windows xp system on a virtual machine and make an image backup with any program Acronis or something.
And i will try to restore it on the laptop HDD with HBCD PE.

      i will post results here.

And also if you find a better way please let me know!
      Have a good weekend!

@hexagonwin A little update to my situation. I just attempted again, this time with options 3,5,6,8,A,B,C,D,H and it installed and booted, but after booting I see some unpacking(?) window and shortly after a "Fatal Error" window saying "An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from continuing. One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed. There are no more files. Press OK to view the Setup log file.". I can't move my mouse (no cursor) nor press ok with keyboard (not even caps lock works), I think the OS is just stuck, considering that caps lock works during boot and they are connected internally via PS/2. I'll try again with the Kai Schtrom driver first, but any other advice highly appreciated!!

BTW: I found that I was using the 2022.9.9 version of WinXPIE, is this OK? I know the newest would be better but my internet is really slow and unstable, so I can't download the new one..

@hexagonwin Downland the latest WinXP-IE version. Anything else you do is a waste of time.
The Patch Integrator script did not make a big version jump form "v3.5.0" to "v4.0.1" for nothing.

@Ramsey Where can i find the older 2022 version? Seems this one always crashes my system. Even if i tried to restore an image backup from virtual machine.

@Ramsey I just downloaded the latest one and tried with options 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,A,B,C,D,E,F and it's giving the same 0x000000A5 error, which is the same as what @ZEPHYR is getting.. do you know of a possible solution?

@ZEPHYR Instead of skipping drivers U should try 2 find the drivers & THEN install windows, pointing 2 your USB stick with the drivers (or wherever U got 'em) 2 install right.  Like when setting up a PC the 1'st thing 2 do IMHO is 2 look inside & check the video card brand & model & same 4 the sound chip, as those (in my experience) R the 2 things 'Windows' seems 2 have the most 'trouble' with, so U can '#GetEverythingWorking' =)

@Dood McMan You are not making any sense!
If i knew how to install the drivers i wouldn't be asking that here!
      Don't you think that?
Anyways anyone else here who can help me?

@Drummer The guy is 55 years old...he's at the point in life where the filter starts to come off.
A lot of guys who were polite in their youth turn into this in old age.
It isn't the first time an old man embarrassed himself around younger folks, and it damn sure won't be the last.

The saddest part of it all is the guy has some hard-earned knowledge about computing...and if you can get past his horrible writing style, he has actually made some good points.
But those good points get lost in not just the writing, but his attitude.
At this point we may as well run what he writes through ChatGPT and see if we can get the AI to make it make sense.

Ramsey, thanks for your hard work. My remaining issues:
    1.  ComputerName=PC provided by me in WINNT.SIF is ignored by the Integral Edition. However, it works properly in Windows XP original installation media, modified with the same WINNT.SIF file.
    2.  When the integral Edition is installed, you have to accept Regional and Language Options, Time Zone, and Display Properties. OEMSkipRegional=1 and OemSkipWelcome=1 in WINNT.SIF do not effect this

      @2issues
You can change the Computer name in the ISO/Disc file ".\OEM\RunOnce\Settings\Windows XP - System Settings.cmd", you can also delete the code like if you want to use the WINNT.SIF file entry.
And to remove the Regional and Language Options, Time Zone popup menu simply delete the code line for it in the ISO/Disc file ".\OEM\RunOnce\WinXPPx86IE - Setup.cmd".

The latest IE8 update is already integrated into WinXP-IE. And if you read the full notice then it says that you have to manfully install the IE updates because since 2017 there is a bug in the Windows Update Center.
And on top of that you cab find all the latest IE and WMP updates in the "WinXP-IE RollBacks" folder.

Hello to everybody, I am considering to buy a new PC , i will install windows 11 of course.
But I have lots of stuff on my current windows XP machine, i7 3770 with Quadro K620 and it works like a charm!

Is it possible for a forum member to suggest a list of modern hardware parts (motherboard, CPU, GPU, memory, PSU etc) that are also compatible with XP integral and the driver set that come with or can be easily found around.

I hope that another member may have done a similar attempt .

I prefer NVIDIA graphics and intel CPU and I am willing to spend up to 1200 euros or dollars or less if it is possible.
Is GTX 1650 possible to run on XP integral ? I need to run some 3d design programs on XP such as SketchUP 2014, blender, 3dsmax 2010, Autocad 2013 etc. Now I use a K620 but it lacks power, and I am considering a NVIDIA 970.

I may use AMD graphics and CPU if it is better or cheaper or more energy efficient.

Any suggestions? It is Christmas time !

@Stel Pats This is the latest XP video driver 4 your Quadro K620, according 2 this 'better than official' nVidia drivers index type site ~>
= It's their last thing 4 XP (see list) ~>
      https://www.nv-drivers.eu/driver-by-versions.html
= Will (supposedly) run your card on XP ~>
BTW: B 4 U go buying 'components', U should look into used Dell PCs on Ebay & Craigslist & auction sites & others, as they R (in my experience) the best 'price to performance ratio' computers available, because so popular with business & whatever that tend 2 just 'dump' them dirt cheap or even free after the warranties expire =;-o  Also maybe check outside computer shops for 'street treasure' = PCs they throw out as 'trash'.  My main PC for about the past decade is an 'old useless junk' HP (Asus 'benecia' motherboard) with 6 SATA ports + a couple adapters running over 16 terabytes of $hit on an old 'Ramsey / Zone94' XP variant I never 'updated' since =)  Most of the time when I get something faster or 'better' iEither $ell it or give it as a gift, because my 'electronic waste' plays 4K video & stuff just fine (& I'm not a 'cutting edge gamer' or something) so don't need 'better'.  = Happy Trails! =)

    Hello, Sir Ramsey

    daniel k & diderius6's acpi patch (2021.8.28) worked incompletely on R7 5700X / B550 machine
it caused many undetected device, incomplete load of GPU, etc...
so, i used Dietmar's acpi patch (2023.4.6) and it worked almost perfectly

but, the trouble started when i changed machine to R7 7700 / B650 (Biostar B650MP-E PRO)
on my new machine, Dietmar's acpi patch causes A7 BSOD
and daniel k & diderius6's acpi patch works incompletely as it does on 5700X / B550 machine

i'm wondering if there's something going on about this issue
    thank you as always

      Hi,
      with the last acpi.sys
      this Bsod is not possible.
I think, that your original acpi.sys is restored from system.
Just look at Windows\system32\drivers at the version of your acpi.sys

When installing this it seems that the installer created an MBR disk and now I can't install Windows 10 on another partition as it requires an EFI partition. Is there a way around this problem if I reinstall WXP?

@Don Schryver Doesn't the 'Zone94' release have requirements 4 UEFI & GPT or whatever other 'latest greatest crippleware bull$hit' disabled by default?  I've not tried the 10 from here yet, but iKnow their Win 11 installs fine onto my MBR partitions in old 'BIOS' type PC (Dell OptiPlex 755) not UEFI $abotage =)  Maybe try the Zone94 Win 11 if can't get 10 working?

O I C, U R trying 2 create everything using the Win 10 installer, rather than dump it into existing partition(s)? U should make the partitions using the Windows XP OS included disk management utility, as the 1's after that R even more crippled, & use in combination with 'FAT32Format'. iPosted some size & utility programs related 2 this in the forum here but don't want 2 keep repeating myself, so iShould make a page iGez =) Or U can use some kind of 'search' feature 2 find my other comment(s)? After making the partitions using XP, U can then install your 'whatever OS' into those MBR partitions (generally speaking).

@Dood McMan With Windows 10 64-bit you have to change your BIOS Boot option to "Legacy" or else Windows 10 64-bit will always create a GPT partition. And with Windows 10 32-bit you always have to change the BIOS Boot option to "Legacy" or else it won't boot/install.

@Ramsey What is actually happening is when I install WXP on a fresh HD and let XP create 2 partitions and install to the first partition everything is fine. I then load the W10 64 setup and it tells me that it can't install to an MBR disk, must be a GPT disk. Apperenty, MBR/GPT are disk specific and not partition specific. This is where I am stuck. I can't convert the disk to GPT otherwise XP will no longer load. Seems this started happening with newer hardware. In the past, with older computers, WXP and W10 would both install just fine to am MBR drive.

      Ramsey · 1 years ago
@Don Schryver Create 2 primary partitions and check your BIOS Boot options.
Windows 10 64-bit will also create a MBR partition if the "Legacy" option is enabled in the BIOS.

@Don Schryver U say 'worked fine on older (non-UEFI sabotage krap) machines, so either U need 2 disable that $hit in the BIOS or switch 2 older hardware, but that's not likely since U say (or 'imply') U R able 2 boot XP MBR stuff on your 'new gear', so LEARN ABOUT THE SWITCHES IN YOUR BIOS TO FORCE LEGACY SUPPORT so Win 10 is not 'confused'.

@Jenix Curious, what do U mean by 'patcher'?  Also as long as U have any random 'not super ancient' X86 CPU windows 7 (or at least the 32 bit version) will run fine.  GPU is irrelevant, as is SSD & motherboard & monitor (or is the 'patch' about those '3'rd party' things??)  Also, U add a bunch of space-wasting line breaks 2 eat up even more space wasted on irrelevant tangents that should stick more 2 solving your issues.  It's relevant 2 me what the 'patch' is because iLike exposing problems & helping fix them =)

@Jenix The "Patch Integrator" is for Windows XP only and will NOT work on any other Operating System, because they have totally different files.
Times are changing and you have to adopt and find different solutions, because beating a dead horse won't work in the long run.
WinXP-IE is still update for nostalgia reasons and for old programs/games that only work on Windows XP. It's not updated/meant to be used as a dally Operating System in 2023. 🙃

@Jenix What does 'all that' mean?  U need 2 B logical & scientific style 2 solve such things.  Maybe try switching which partition U R installing the 'problem' OS 2, like making it the 1'st 1, near the start of the disc, or U could just start with a completely blank disk & add a 'boot loader' type space = however many 'megabytes' your 'switcher' would need 2 B, or some other 'OS requirement of the problem OS', then U can resize & the partition(s) alter the settings & so on.  iWould never trust a 'muitl-boot' drive, because they must share some kind of 'loader' space, which can possibly interact & corrupt each other.  The ideal way 2 do it is separate physical drives with different partitions but all the same size, so U can just back up & dump whatever OS or 'tweaked version' into N E drive & U R up & running. That is part of the 'tried all that' that U have obviously not tried.  Most PCs have plenty of extra drive controller ports 2 have multiple drives, & now with NVMe & so on it takes almost no space, & U can even mount them 2 PCIe cards = LOL  It's always best 2 have multiple boot partitions on separate drives.  When my PC goes down (way less often now than B 4 iBecame a 'ninja tweaker =) iJust dump in a backup copy & go = don't even bother trying 2 fix N E thing = just delete it & refresh with the 'working' version, & once U make significant changes, back that up & delete the backups U don't need = all reel E Z 2 do with DriveImage XML =D

@Dood McMan You've been wasting everyone's time with your rambling nonsense.
      Like, dude, seriously.
You REALLY need to knock it off.
Either that or get to the point and learn how to type like a human being.

Notice how your suggestions have been getting ignored?
      There's a reason for that...actually, multiple reasons.
You use all these abbreviations that make your sentences all but unreadable, and your subject matter indecipherable.
How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?
Because you've got to at least be in your late 50s or 60s...I remember seeing some people write in this 'abbreviated' style when I was young, in the early days of the Internet, and most of them were born in the 1950s and 1960s.

This style of writing you use is a relic of a bygone era.
It doesn't make you look cool or edgy...it makes you look like a strange old man who forgot to take his medications.
And combining that with how you've put people down (including me), it really makes you look like a jerk.
You share your opinions at length, but it seems no one gives a damn...then again they just might if you didn't present yourself in a self-important way.

Nobody wants you spamming Ramsey's page with all the nonsense you post.
And the sad part is that you actually make some decent points and have some good ideas, but they get completely lost in your egotism, your rudeness, and above all else, your indiscernible writing style.

Do whatever you have to do to kick this...go to your local AA, go for a walk, see a movie, whatever floats your boat...but you really need to get a grip.
I speak for myself, but I think others will agree.
      Take good care of yourself.
